Dealing with ock

Just a word of warning to all about dealing with ock (Karl).

After talking with him every other day for six weeks, I finally accepted his offer to buy his SW, then he just stopped communicating. About 10 days later he came back and said that it was sold. (i.e., after I agreed to his price, he went out and tried successfully to get a better price.) That's dirty, but fine... live and learn.

Then to make it worse, he came back to me a month later and said the same cue is for sale again. Again, I said "I'll take it" but this time I want to use an escrow service. He REALLY didn't want to do that (red flag), but we finally agreed to use the escrow of his choice, and he was supposed to send the cue. Karl again stopped all communication, and finally came back two weeks later and said the cue was no longer for sale...

This guy touts himself as the "Cornerstone of Singapore" when in fact he's actually cheated Bill out of nearly $1,000 and made no effort to repay. Karl, don't ruin Bill's impeckable reputation by associating yourself with him.

I'm glad I didn't lose any money to him, but this is not the kind of person we need conducting business here. Take my advice, and stay clear before worse happens to you.

Thanks for the heads up. He has been added to my STAY AWAY from list.

it is amazing how we can sense these guys out.i am sure most of you guys can as well.something in the way they word their adds you can just tell they are crooks.i knew this guy was no good.

Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this guy in trades and purchases. He'll just waste a lot of your time.

Can you provide his full name and address? As we've seen, some persistant con men have managed to aquire new usernames after they've been banned, ala Jim Holmes from Flushing NY.

Thanks,

Eric

I don't think he is a con man. Just a young man struggling with over eagerness. I think we can all understand that as many of us are young man once.

My country is very small so it would be hard for someone in the pool scene to scam another and get away with it. He is probably just trying to get a better deal and over did it. Give the boy a chance. I am sure he would have understand his folly by now.

Probably an escrow service is the way to go in all future dealings from here. Kind of hard to know who is who behind that screen.

We haven't heard ock's version here. But if what Mr Hoppe says is true and even if he's a young man out to get a "better" deal, he should learn to stick to his word. We do not have to wait till we are 30 years old to learn the meaning of integrity and honesty. I don't think he's a scammer but his current business practices certainly leaves something to be desired.

well, mr hoppe. i will wait for bill to come online and clarify that i DID NOT con his money... he will come online once he finishes his trade show.i just called him. anyway,, i believe masterclass can help you check if my story is true. the guy that owns the sw, is not willing to sell anymore. what can i do?
i gotta admit that if i were in your shoes, i would be frustrated. but now i am an innocent party you get it? he does not want to sell, i convey it to you, and you start posting nasty comments.

the first time i wanted to sell it myself, you replied too late, my friend got the deal. second time, he wanted to sell it initially...but decided to keep it .. WHAT CAN I SAY... bill(william grassley) will clarify everything once he finishes his cue show.

god bless

Ock (Karl) you are just bad news.

#1) I don't really care about your dealings with Bill, but the fact is that you owe him almost $1,000, and have made no effort to pay for 4 months now, I believe is what he told me. This has nothing to do with me, but it does speak to your character.

#2) On the first attempt at this transaction I talked to you every other day for nearly 6 weeks. As soon as I said "ok, I'll take it." You stopped answering my messages for two weeks, but were still logging in here, then finally came back and said it was sold. Hmmm, curious...

#3) The second time was almost the exact same story. You said it's for sale again, I said I'll take it, we agreed to use the escrow of your choice, then you stopped communicating for an extended period of time (again while still logging in here periodically) and finally came back to say it's no longer for sale.

I'm not saying that you ripped me off, just that your business practices are not showing a good trend. I'm sorry if you find this "nasty" but transactions on this forum are not mediated in any way, so trust is a big factor here, and you are not earning yours. If indeed someone else owned the cue and you were selling it for them for some reason, then my suggestion for you is to stop trying to sell items not in your possession. My suggestion to others is to not deal with you, because it certainly has been a big waste of my time.

I recieved a call from mr hoppe and did explain that i was still waiting for a pymt of a transaction that happened months earlier. and told him i would work as a middle man,to assure pymt for him.while at the derby city i recieved a call from karl and he said he would wire the money. and when i got back the funds were there! thank you to all
