1973 Joss for sale and Jensen Sneaky Pete possibly Mottey
Very rare 1973 Joss 3 pointer - birdseye on birdseye hoppe cue with no bumper with ivory ring and ivory joint. The cue doesn't have a logo but Mr. Janes did look at the cue a couple of years ago at valley forge and comfirmed it was his. It was made shortly after the seperation with Stroud hence no logo. 2 original shafts at 12.2 and 11.9 mm at 13.9oz. Also comes with two new shafts at 13mm with ivory ferrules with Moori quick tips made by Mike Johnson (Jensen Cue). One has maybe two hours play, not even blue yet, and the other has hit maybe three balls. New shafts weigh in at 4.4 oz and hit great. Original shafts are 29.5" new shafts are 30" butt is 29" and weighs in at 15.2 oz. I would rate this cue at 90% the worst wear being a couple scratches on the butt since there isn't any bumper and there is one imperfection in the wrap towards the middle - not noticable but it is there. this is an awesome player and one of the stiffest hitting ivory jointed cues I have ever shot with. asking $1500.
Next cue is a Mike Johnson Sneaky pete. 59" not sure on ferrule(proably aegis) would say about 12.75mm shaft is straight weighing in at 3.5 oz. Butt weighs in at 16.2oz for a net of 19.7oz feels really good and draws the ball great. maybe its the milk dud tip not sure. was told the cue was around 12 to 15 years old and Mike confirmed. asking $300
I really don't want to sell these cues but I don't have the luxury of just adding another cue so these must go for the search of the perfect hit for me. I will consider trading up for the right southwest or hercek hoppe. I have a mottey players cue as well that could be negotiated for as well for the right cue. It has smooth black leather wrap with two predator shafts. prefer 59 to 60 inch cue with wood to wood joint
