information about Joss CC cues (are they custom)?

Has anyone heard of a Joss CC model cue?

Does anyone know what CC stands for (or means)?

I have added pictures of the cue (model CC-06), so if anyone knows how much the cue retailed for (and if the cue has gone up, or down in value), than I would love to know that information.

Thank you

CC stands for Custom cue, custom cues are a batch of a small number of identical cues made. Thats what i think but Joss does make custom cues and one of a kind custom cues.

Just look at my sig you will see a one of a kind custom cue which is one of one your can also be a one of one or one of a certain amount 1 of 50 or something like that.

Hope this helps

That is a very beautiful cue. Are those ivory points? I bet that it cost thousands (I am guessing). I emailed Joss about my cue, and Dan Janes emailed me, and told me that the cue was made in 1999 for a company called Cue & Case (but he did not know how much it retailed for). So I am guessing the CC may just stand for Cue & Case. If anyone knows the value of the cue, than I would really like to know. Thank you.

Joss cues tend to hold their value OK, but very few models will be the same value as new. That one looks to be in the $250 range now, probably $350-400 retail or so when new.

Thanks for the information. I was really hoping that the cue was a special limited edition, or maybe one of a kind. I see the Color of Money Joss cue (that does not look all that much nicer) selling for over $700 on ebay, and I do not understand why. Other used Joss cues have sold for over $500 (that do not do not really look to be any nicer, in my opinion). I was guessing that I may be able to get $250 for it (if I am lucky). Joss cues seem to be much more limited in numbers than other production cues (except for Schon, and maybe a few other high end makers), because I do not see very many used ones on ebay (and the new ones are very high in price).

Maybe the "color of money" Joss sells for more because those who buy it want to play as well as Tom Cruise???

deing ding we have a winner, if it was cx it would be cue stix.........OTB

The custom line cues I have seen made by Joss are One of Kind and they have to be ordered directly from Joss, I have never seen any carried in dealers stock. I have had a few Customers order Customs and they were really nice cues, in fact some of them were made by Danny Janes.

So how many of the CC-06 model did Joss probably make for Cue & Case? Was it probably a limited edition, or maybe a custom ordered cue (so one of a kind)? Thanks.

Posting on a friend's computer tonight, as I'm away from mine. Cue & Case manufactures the Lucasi and Player lines of cues, made in China...so they are a wholesaler. Joss would make a bunch of whatever cues they were going to make for them (Cue & Case)...so it certainly would not be 'custom', nor would it be one of a kind. Nonetheless, it is a real Joss, and a good quality cue.

None that I know of,,,,,,The model # does not resemble any Joss # that was made for C&C,,,the only ones I have seen are listed here

If this thing even smells like a Joss, chopdoc will be around eventually, he is the resident expert on Joss,,,, maybe he can help.

Okay, so the cue probably is not anything special (considering that it was made for cue & case). I do see that the Joss cues that cue & case has are very high priced, so they must not have ordered nearly as many as Lucasi or Players. I am sure that Joss cues are much more limited than most other production cues.

I contacted Joss cues, and provided them with the serial number (A07247) on the joint, and Dan Janes emailed me back (with the only information that I have about the cue, the model number CC-06). That was the only info he had in his records, and the date that the cue was finished (7/23/99). I emailed him pictures of the cue, so hopefully he will be able to tell me how much the cue retailed for. I just asked him to take his best guess if he did not know for sure. I also asked him what the inlays are made out of, because I am also curious about that. I know chopdoc. He is a nice guy, and seems to know a lot about cues. He has replied to many of my questions that I have posted on here.

Indeed, I believe he is as well,,,,,so did Dan confirm the model #CC-06?
This is very interesting, please let us know any additional info on this cue you can confirm from him. I'm not so interested in value, I just would like the accurate addition to my archives.

I'm no resident expert, LOL! I just happen to like JOSS.

Anyway, I don't know this cue at all and you guys already have as much as I could have dug up on it. What really is left is some idea of value and I generally try to stay away from that issue.

I think if he's been looking for a player he may have it. I know he asked about the new JOSS shafts in another thread. I haven't tried one. They have the short ferrule and I expect are somewhat LD.

Thank you, everything white is ivory execpt the but plate everything red is pink ivory and the ring is pure silver its cost me close the 4k.

I feel your pain about cues selling for more than wht they should as i was told here a few years ago a cue is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

I am fond of your 13 year old cue it has age and beuty to thats a keeper !!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, Dan Janes emailed me all of the information that he had in his records. He could only tell me that the cue is a model CC-06 (and that it was made for a company called Cue & Case), and that it was made (finished) on 7/23/99. He did not have any other information to give me about the cue. I sent him a couple more emails (with other questions), but I feel that I should not bother him any more about it. It was nice of him to take the time to email me the information that he had in his records about the cue. Thanks everyone for your replies, and thanks (chopdoc) for the info about the new Joss shafts. They look very nice, but not sure if they are worth the money. I see that a lot of company's are making LD shafts these days (like the Players LD shaft looks nice, for under $100). Sorry for going off the topic, lol.

I see that Stephen Janes (Dan Janes son?) made that Joss custom cue in the pictures. He is an amazing cue maker. I love the silver joint, and I love everything else about the cue. I really love the curly maple (if that it what it is called). I never knew (until recently) that Joss made custom cues (one of a kind cues). I always thought they stopped doing they when Dan Janes started his production cue company. It is very cool that they still make custom cues. I wish that I could afford one, lol.
