And Now Something Completely Different

that looks very difficult

I cant remember the name of the game, but I saw a picture of Mika playing a game about 10-15 years ago. Big table, grapefruit sized balls, and pockets that the balls needed to literally be pushed through.
Talk about tough.

that sounds like russian billiards (pyramid)

Hi,

The game you're describing Mika playing could very well have been kaisa (karoliina). Don't actually know if Mika plays or has played it, but by what you're describing and being that Mika is Finnish it's a fair guess.

Kaisa resembles russian billiards or pyramid as it is played on a big table with big and heavy balls, but it is mainly played in Finland. I'm by no means an expert on the game but yes, it is considered quite tough. As in english billiards, in kaisa you can score either by pocketing balls or shooting caroms (the rules are quite elaborate and I'm not that familiar with them, but you get the principle).

The game of kaisa has a long history here in Finland but the popularity of the game has been on the decline lately. Pool and snooker dominate, but kaisa along with pyramid is still quite popular with some people.
