Simple question, simple poll. This is not for who was better in their primes, or who would win 20 years ago. This is only for today/right now. This would make for a great TAR match. IMO.

I didn't think Keith was even playing at the moment (or if so, not for speed). Aren't virtual tables getting his attn?

Or, maybe he is getting some PT (hence the poll)?

Matt <--- On 2nd... Nah.... Me thinks Vette is a coy, seed-plantin' sonnofagun & votes Bartrum

Bartram wins no question. Keith doesn't even play pool anymore. Back in the day who knows, who cares it will never happen so any arguments are just for the sake of arguing.

How much are they playing for?

I agree with JCIN - this match will never happen. Keith couldn't find a stake to play Incardona one pocket, he wouldn't find one for this match either.

Please don't speak falsehoods, Watchez. Keith had a backer. JCIN knows it, as well as I do. Get your facts straight. That is not the reason the Incardona game did not happen.

I would be surprised to hear that Keith has played 5 hrs of pool in the last year. It's a blowout in favor of CB today.

CB can get a BIG spot if he wants to go back in time a decade or 3 though.

That is news to me.

Really? So Harry Platis didn't say he wanted to back Keith, but he did not want to do it at the U.S. Open on the East Coast?

Gee, I do remember talking to your partner Chad about this. Hmm, maybe it's selective memory.

In fact, now that I think about it, I exchanged not only numerous PMs with Chad, but I also spoke with him on the telehpone several times about this topic of Harry Platis backing Keith. I seem to also recall exchanging a PM with you about it as well.

Unfortunately, I have deleted many of my PMs to make room for more, but I did find one that I sent to Chad.

Here is an excerpt from one PM.

Last I remember I sent Harry an email telling him what he would get for sponsoring Keith and never heard another word. I talked to you on the phone and you said it didnt look like you would get the stake for the Open so we quit working on it.

If you told Chad that he was staked for somewhere else I never heard about it.

As far as selective memory I don't appreciate that comment. We have done nothing but try to put money in Keith's pocket.

That sounds like Harry wasn't staking Keith to me. I missing something?

And I don't appreciate your response.

Chad knows damn well that Keith was supposed to be staked by Harry Platis. Harry did not want Keith to play Billy at the Open. He said he'd be interested if it could happen at another venue. That is EXACTLY what I told your partner, Chad. I also relayed this to you in a PM.

It is unfortunate that you and Chad did not communicate this to each other. I'm not making it up, and if I have to call Harry Platis and have him come on this forum and post about it, you can bet your bottom dollar, I'll do it.

Yep, you're missing what happened, what was communicated to your partner by me in writing and over the phone.

In fact, now that I think about it, Harry suggested Las Vegas as a venue. Chad and I both chuckled that we didn't want to drive to Vegas, as he doesn't like to fly and neither do I.

Alright, so now we have stake horses, players, a venue, and a ton of people that will buy the ppv. WTF is the holdup?

Do whatever makes you feel good.

I stand by my reputation here. If there was a miscommunication along the way so be it. I really don't care anymore. We tried on two separate occasions to get something to go with Keith and it was a bunch of work for no reward.

I wish him nothing but the best and will always be grateful to him for doing one of our first podcasts. Hopefully one day he will play the game again, I know I would pay to see it.

You know, your flippant response is not warranted here.

I know you have support on this forum, and I applaud you for your efforts to bring live pool to the masses, but let's get something straight.

If you actually think it's a really good deal for the pool player to come up with his own stake, travel expenses, and the whole nine yards to perform on the Internet, it's not as rewarding as you might think.

Actually, for the player too, it can be "a bunch of work for no reward," especially if they lose. I don't understand where you come off with this "bunch of work and no reward" crap.

I kept in contact with Chad on numerous occasions, by PM and by phone, to try to make this happen. He certainly never spoke to me in the manner which you just have on this thread. In fact, he was quite nice, always has been.

I only have 1 comment and it's not directed at JAM, or anyone. It's a good deal to put up your own expenses, hotel, stake, etc, to play on the internet if you think you're gonna win.

Even if you think its a gamble, the pot odds dictate that you call anytime you are getting staked. Its a no brainer. Everytime I've been staked on the golf course or in the pool hall, I've loved the odds Im getting on my money.

We did roughly 12 of our own events last year. There was over $200,000 won in those events. I can think of less than $30,000 that was put in by the players. We have paid out over $7000 in DVD profit sharing to players with more to come. All in about 18 months.

You are right, what player would ever want anything to do with that.

We are far from perfect but we bust our ass for our customers and the players and backers who work with us.

As far as what it takes to put together a match, if you think it is no big deal and such a good deal for the promoter I suggest you go and give it a try.
