I was down in Boca visiting with Bob, and he took me to this deli for lunch.....I still cant believe that I had to go to Florida to have the BEST hot pastrami sandwich, I have ever tasted......Here I am living on Long island, the pastrami and corned beef capital, and I walk into this deli in Boca. I think I might have to move...lol
Anyway, The trip before I was Picking out some Burl for a new cue...like i had any idea what I was doing, and we came up with this beautifull piece. I still cant believe what it looked like before it was touched and then done. Bob is an amazing artist, as well as a cue maker.....Heres his description of this cue
Steve, I hope you're pleased with your choice of material for this project, especially the burlwood. Although when you culled it out of that pile I bet you couldn't realize the end result.
the "Bohemian"
Quick description; Carpathian Elm burl w/16 ivory stylized points, ebony bordered and .999 silver tipped. Focal point of the butt is the ivory section laced with ebony created by rotary contour pocketing (solids into solids). Lapis lazuli, silver, pearl and jewelers grade copper complete the inlay pattern and lend to the stark contrasts I strived for. Accent ringwork consists of hundreds of tiny silver inlays to simulate facets. Cue weighs 19.4 oz with either 13mm shaft. Choosing a wrapless layout I was hoping to preserve the beauty of the burlwood while incorporating some interesting and unique artwork. Art is subjective so you be the judge. As always I enjoyed your visits and working with you........Thanks, Bob
