Hey guys. My old man passed away in January. Played a lot of pool in his younger years, but not much in his final years. He acquired this cue through a friend who had it made for my dad by Jim McDermott. It's pretty special to me. He loved this thing.

Anyways, I thought I would share it with you guys.

I should mention that the lighter colored shaft is one I had made by McDermott more to my playing style. It's a G-core shaft with matching ring work. The 'G-core' tag is omitted. The curly shaft is original to the cue.

It feels great. No wiggle or give to the shaft at all like you'd expect. My only issue with it is it's 11.25 mm at the end of the ferrule. It's a little thin for my liking which is why I had the new one custom made for me. I've heard that the stripes can mess with your eyes while looking down the shaft for a shot, but I don't experience that problem myself. It's darn pretty. That's for sure!

Jim,
I actually stumbled across these by chance and acquired them for what I thought was a steal. We're it custom made for this cue I would of had the stitched ring work as opposed to the stripe. I can assure you once I get a little more financially comfortable (aka-when my wife lets me) that I'll be contacting you again to have some custom ones made for this cue. These are pretty, but they're no Baxter!
 
I like the old McDermotts a lot. They play fantastic to this day. Your cue is nice and the SS joint makes it unique. You sure don't see that often!!
