What's Your preferred CUE BALL & Why?

When I was playing every day (quite some time ago), the cue ball of choice was the Red Circle. It appears today that not only are there many more choices in cue balls, but also perhaps that Red Circle is no longer at the top of everyone's list.

So, WHAT'S YOUR PREFERED CUE BALL & WHY?

As an aside, why do I recall Red Circle cue balls being under the brand of Hyatt's?

THANX! -Z-

I'm no expert, but I do prefer the red circle over 1) Measles are cool, for an hour (I don't like logos on my golf balls) 2) Blue circle holds too much chalk.

I have two measles balls and they both seem to have cracks in them. Nothing you can feel, but you can certainly see the cracks.

Red circle is what I have at home, and what I play with the most when "out" (Diamond barboxes). When I bought my home table I got a cheap (not real cheap - Standard Aramith set) set with it. I wanted to try some better ones, and found a set of Premiums at a local place going out of business. I asked the owner if they were better than my Standards, and he said they were, and if I bought them (for $50) he'd include a red circle cue ball....not bad. Like the set, and love the cue ball.

I liked the look of the IPT set that was being sold on here, just don't know if they were any better than what I have now....

I prefer the BIH cueball over all others. I could care less if it's got a blue circle, a red circle or a triangle. It could have an ankh for all I care. If it's a BIH cueball, I am most comfortable.

Is there a link where I can get one of those because I always seems to get stuck using a BIP cueball.

Centtenial Balls

I like the Brunswick Centennial Balls and the blue circle cue ball that comes with that set the best of all.

Thanks

Kevin

I'll take a Brunswick Centennial cue ball, (and ball set, for that matter), over anything.

I think they play the best, and they are definitely the best looking, IMO. ;)

No doubt. That's what I say every time I'm asked. Why people don't play with the same ball that comes with the set is beyond me.

Some people have $#itty strokes, so when they swap out for a lighter cue ball, it makes their balls swell up to the size of grapefruits cause they can actually draw the ball and they feel like champions.;)

Red circle is the only way to go. My aramith set came with the measle ball, thats why i dont play with the one that came with the set. I cant stand that thing. Its fine for tv but other than that its useless.

I prefer the cue ball that actually comes with the set, whichever set it may be, when it is purchased.

The voice of reason. Rep to you! I just want to be able to follow or draw equally, and the only way for that to happen is to have a matched set of balls (size, weight and composition).

As a novice player I have found the measle ball to be a good training aid.
I think the one that came with my set is a better cue ball though, not sure why it just plays different.

I prefer the Brunswick Centennial, probably just because that's what I have.

I remember hearing some time back that the Centennial and the Aramith Super Pro are the same ball, and that Aramith makes the Centennials for Brunswick. I don't remember where I heard it, and have no idea if it's true. Does anyone have any info on this?

Brian from Diamond Tables told me the exact same thing. -Z-
