Unknown, super well done Bushkaesque designed cue

Morgan set complete...

I don't get stumped to often, but I can't figure the maker on this one out. Perfectly executed Bushka design, and everything screams talent. The points are perfect, the design is impeccable and quite frankly, the only thing unimpressive to me is the lizard wrap. (Doesn't fit well with the cue being old school)

So here is the skinny...

shafts - older wood, 4.3 oz 13mm, ivoru ferrules. Very traditional pilot / bushing work. Definately very good wood. Bushings .515 diameter

Forearm - Ebony prongs, black, green, orange, and natural into birdseye. Slotted diamond with two under dots. (rare pattern even for Bushka) Maple ebony block ring with two thinner silver rings top and bottom. Joint is .840 diameter and has a nice little joint chamfer.

Joint is 1" LG, 5/16-14 sticks out 3/4"

Butt sleeve is ebony with traditional MOP design. 3" LG

Delrin cap is 1.6 +/- lg.

Handle is 12" LG

Any ideas??????

Who it isn't.... Tascarella, Jim White, Klein, Black or Paul Mottey

For what it's worth, my guess is Richard Black. The brass inserts in the shafts are almost flush with the maple that extrudes from the collars, which was typical of a Black. If so, it may have been refinished and re-wrapped, which would explain the lack of signature and lizard wrap. But of course, these days, there are many other cue makers who could have made it.

Joe,
Get a Magifying glass and look at the joint pin, on the top side,
And the Brass Inserts in the shafts... :)

I bet someone had the cue refinished and wrapped...

Getting closer

There is no etching on the pins / or collars... BUT..........

On the weight bolt are two etchings but I need a better magnifying glass... Plus the weight bolt appears to be scuffed, doesn't make it any easier...

I'll pick up a smaller version of the hubble today and see if I can make it out... :D

I'll take some closeup pics of my cue at lunch today,
or after work, to compare with"

"make sure to get a Good Look at the brass Inserts,
John's logo is really tiny,
And yet Very Detailed"
I talked to Ron Haley once about that ,
Ron said John does it with a small hammer and chissel :p

Bingo...

Found them...

Showman is the winner...

I think the finish is original, but right at the base of the wrap seem there is a finish bubble. So maybe it was rewrapped and was knicked in the process.

I'd have John refinish it...get more for it that way....Nice cue from one of the top makers in the world...

Need to thank the person that forwarded my number.... :)
