A Rare Find Indeed: 100 White Micarta Ferrules Available

My friend is a Known Retired Cuemaker who is in the Blue Book. He has a Large White Micarta Rod 14 " long that he has owned since 1966. It is the real macoy. We can get over 100 1.00" x .560 ferrules from this piece.

I put one on my custom cue replacing an ivory ferrule and it plays very soft and quiet. I like it better that my ivory ferrule.

Anyone who is interested please contact me at scdiveteam@aol.com.

Since '66? That definitely shouldn't be white anymore. Was it sealed with something?

white/ not yellowed IVORY COLORED MICARTA?

COULD YOU SHOW SOME PICS OF THE MICARTA AGAINST SOME DEFINABLE COLORED OBJECT(LIKE A GALLON OF MILK, a white envelope OR SOMETHING SIMILAR)? I HAVE BOUGHT WHITE MICARTA FERRULE WHICH WAS DEFINITELY NOT THE MICARTA USED BY EARLY SOUTHWEST'S AND SCHON'S. sorry for caps! i have also gotten some micarta ferrules - two different bunches which are yellowed, not white but are not identical to each other nor to the ferrule's on my old schon shafts. some of us have been railroaded on ebay before, didn't like the outcome there.

white micarta is still available at many spots,Atlas even has it.it cracks too easily though.what people want is the paper based yellow micarta mad with asbestos.

I will be posting a picture of the rod soon and will posting pics of the ferrules derived from the rod in the near future. I will contrast the pic with a milk jug. Thanks for the suggestion.

how much for 2 ferrules?

Yes, if they are going to be made available in smaller quantities, I would not mind knowing a price, also.

Inquiring minds got to know! Is it asbestos based micarta or is it paper? If it is the former, how much for 4 ferrules? Thanking you in advance, Wolf

the old stuff is paper based but asbestos was alos used in the manufacturing process.it is stronger than the paper base stuff today.
