I did a cue for myself that I bought from them. It was one of the purpleheart/bocote full splices and it hit like a freight train! They are incredible blanks for the money.

Hey moxiecues if you want to show everyone your choice of quality parts then you need to supply the correct address. www.schmelkecue.com
Just a tip but not all shoppers & definately not all cuemakers are looking for the cheapest parts...even if the cheap parts allow you to make a cue that "beats this deal".;) Most prefer to spend hard earned cash on top shelf quality....even if it is a bit more.:)

:D :D :D Troy your killing me lmfao :D Rep points for sure bro. :D

I've got to side with Varney about the quality, if you take a look at the website, and look at the cue building supplies, and as an example look at the trim rings and I got to say, I'm a real beginner and just finished my first attempt at trim rings and they look alot like theirs. Except mine aren't off center. And no I'm not bragging, just the opposite. I just would expect alittle more quality at $2 a pop from a supplier. They also don't give any sizes or specs on any of those items, which makes me wonder if they're import? They don't even list the lengths of their weight bolts. I cannot comment on their Cue blanks as one can only tell from handling an actual one, but based on the other items, I'd be leary about trying them.
My 2.5 cents

Thank you for the professionalism. Let me make myself clear. First of all I see an ad from some new to the forum, unknown cuemaker offering the best deal on the cheapest blanks. Little did I know that it was cuemaker gsirca. Last I checked it was not allowed to have 2 different accounts here at AZB.
No I don't use those blanks. But I have tried them in years past and was quite unsatisfied with them. I know I'm not the only one as well. This was a recent discussion among several cuemakers and none would use those. I can't argue the price is very, very attractive though. Maybe the quality control is much better now. Tell you what...I'll order a 1/2 dozen tomorrow and check them out. Maybe they'll prove more stable. If not the kids down at the YMCA will appreciate them. Sorry you don't like the clean, simple, uncluttered, functional style of my cues. If I get a customer wanting lots of inlays...seriously, I'll send them your way.
I would also like to apologize for knocking your ad. I simply had no idea that you were offering a cheaper line of cues under another name.
My best to you sir.

Wow folks. This is a first in AZB octagon history it looks that the Varney corner is throwing in the towel. Will we make it to round 3. Is this fight over?

OK,If Kevin wants everybody to think he builds or does not buy his blanks from Schmelke then thats fine, but thats the way he makes players think that they are getting something better...so they will pay more money, so he makes more money,i have been building cues for ten years and any good cue builder makes his own parts...........i only buy pins,i have bought other things but build most of all my own parts,VARNEY'S level of cue buliding is obvious, you need to wake up....................also the blanks are good for what they are, but Schmelke are great people and they give 100% guarantee,i don't use many, because i don't build to many of those kind of cues, not really building them just dressing them up,thats all... Anybody with a lathe can do that,my kid likes to build them so he is building them, and he has learned to build all of his own parts also, some people just need to keep there big hole shut............if Varney thinks he's the best then, let him act like it.dont pick on new guys.............pick on me, i am a big boy and i pick back.IT WASN'T ABOUT THE BLANKS........IT WAS ABOUT THE BUILDER AND THE PRICE.............WAKE UP

Well since you insist...
Its absolutely amazing that you make such statements. So we are to believe you are psychic and therefore you know my suppliers? You keep swearing I'm using Schmelke blanks...well why don't you call the "great people" and have them check their sales records for you. Be sure to report back what they said. In the meantime I'll post this pic of 3 cues using my standard blank. Its very clear to anyone looking that they are indeed NOT the same. The gap between the points is much more narrow, and even better looking, on the Schmelke blank pics you posted. I never claimed to make my own fullsplice blanks, its common knowledge I don't make my own fullsplice blanks...very few cuemakers do.
You've shown yourself to be a class act Greg...I wish you the very best. And hey...you are selling cues your kid made under the name moxiecues, thats fantastic! How old is he? Wish I had started younger...maybe then I could be building some fancy cues with inlays instead of my "beginner" cues that everyone seems to love. I look forward to the day when I saved up $1800 so I can buy an inlay machine and make my cues play better!

At 4 in the morning that's pretty funny.

I deleted the other sentence in case it was inappropriate.

I don't care for lots of big inlays or bright purple in my cues. I prefer my cues to be simple, but sweet. :D :D :D
