The butt of this Nova was refinished by Kenny Murrell several years ago.
The original wrap was replaced as well. The current wrap is leather.
Figured Birdseye maple forearm and sleeve.
Cocobola windows with maple diamonds.
Weight is 18.5oz.
Nova cues have a weight bolt.

There are no blemishes in the butt.
The cue is straight.

Of special interest to Nova collectors is that this cue was built before Nubs perfected his shaft insert.
Notice the shaft insert is a combination of brass and the material Nubs latter used as a solid piece.
I showed the cue to Nubs 2 years ago and he verified it was his design.

$675.00 shipped within the continental USA.

The second cue was sold to me with the explanation that it was a Ralf Greenleaf conversion.
Here is an original greenleaf on 3cushion.com

Unfortunately Nubs could not confirm it when I showed it to him. It was to many cues ago.

You will however play hell trying to find a spliced 4 point Nova.

The points and sleeve appear to be rosewood.
The veneers are from the outside in: green, blue, red and natural.
The rings appear to be nickel. The dash marks are red, black and natural.
Weight is 18.9oz
The cue also has a weight bolt.
The cue is straight.

The are some imperfections.
There has been some lifting of the finish around the ring work at the sleeve.
There are some light imperfections in the finish. I am not sure if they are dings or just flaws in the finish. They are smooth and the finish has not lifted.

dont think I've sees sharp points on Nova, nice cues

It was rare that Nubs spliced his forearms with sharp points.
He did some early on after he left McDermott.
As I said though this cue was sold to me as Greenleaf conversion.

nova points

Hi,
Nubs used blanks from a vender do produce these sharp points. I have one that verl horn did the points on and I think one other vendor. Nubs could not perform a full splice cue. He also did a couple titlist conversions. But do know that he did not make this full splice work on this cue. Very nice conversion though!! Good luck with your sale. Sorry just thought buyers should know this.
I spent alot of time in the shop watching projects that steve and nubs were working on. I have many of his cues in my basement and a great deal of knowlegde on these cues.
Thanks,
Bobby p

Thanks for the info Bobby.
If nubs was buying blanks it was probably from Prather.
I'll be sure to ask him the next time I talk to him.
