Weight Given or Taken

Just curious if there is one common weight system that everyone uses for action or is pretty much up for debate? Please post what you're willing to give or take in order.

Thanks,
Taiko

I don't really understand what you're asking. Perhaps if you propose your own response to your question, others will have comments

I believe you are asking if people would say......offer up the 7 to anyone every time.
Weight is something decided upon after other aspects of the game are settled. Like..........oh, for instance.......WHO YOU ARE PLAYING.
Any other way is asking for a heap o trouble.

But I'll take the last 4 and the break.:D

This is the order
last two
call eight
wild eight
wild eight and the breaks
last three
wild eight, call seven
wild seven, eight
wild seven, eight and breaks
last four ....

I think you can figure out the rest of the pattern. After you start giving the five out then you give up games.

After the Wild 7,8 its probobly better to start giving up games, otherwise there are just too many money balls on the table for them to fire in. So it would be:
last two
call eight
wild eight
wild eight and the breaks
last three
wild eight, call seven
wild seven, eight
wild seven, eight, 1 game on the wire to 7
wild seven, eight, 2 games on the wire to 7
wild seven, eight, 1 game on the wire to 5
etc...

Also, remember that the shorter the race the more advantage the weight gives.

omg! you know too much about gambling and weight. I think when i come to melbourne i will keep my money in the bank or ima get ROBBED!!

Also you need to know that the weight changes if you take into consideration who your playing. For instance:

If your playing a banger, its better to give them the last 2 than the wild 8, because chances are they will get more games out of ramming the 8ball than they will by running out to the last 2.

But if im playing someone who can run more than 5balls, i would probably rather give them the call8, or wild8, because the chances of them RAMMING it is less, and that way 90% of the time they use the weight will be right before the 9ball. So i have more of a chance to take their weight away in the middle of the rack by combo'ing the 8 etc.

just something to keep in mind :)

We can gamble all day and night if you will take the last 3 over the wild 8 and the breaks!!! .... lol For above average shooters, the breaks are worth 2 balls. And if against a good player, games on the wire are better than balls, one in the hand is better than 2 in the bush type thing.

Yes I definitely agree the breaks are worth a lot more for players that can control the table throughout the rack (A players and above).

I can only control the table throughout the rack about 10-30% of the time. So it is not that much of an advantage for a player of my skill level or less. Even if I don't control the table the whole rack I do notice I win a lot more games when I am breaking. Not sure if that is just from the confidence of winning the last rack or what. I hate racking. Only losers rack.:D
