Cue ID Help Paradise or Palmer?

Palmer with a non original shaft...

JV

Yes, 1st catalog model 10 mix - early version with what looks like a Gandy or Viking shaft. The veneer missing in the forearm will kill the value. It may be repairable but the cue looks like a parts cue.

Edited to say; #9 Butt, model 10 forearm. A very confused cue!

Bows to the expert;) I didn't pay much attention to the shaft. I see it now, though.

The cue also has a #9 butt - crazy!

The foil might have a light "Original by Palmer" imprint or name. The thin clear mylar film on the metallic backing may have been pulled off. Paradise used a different label material.

Chris,

This cue is similar to my "Arnie" cue which is also a 9 butt with a 10 forearm. I attached an old picture of the cue when it still had the incorrect butt cap.

Regarding the veneers, I considered a cue that had damaged veneers and the quote to repair was $100 per point.

For me, the issues with this cue are the veneers and the missing foil. I assume it's missing the foil. The pics don't show the window area very well. Take the foil out of a Palmer and you have a problem.

And what's going on with the weight bolt? Is it corroded or has it been replaced with a plug? It's hard to tell in the pic. If it's heavily corroded, that might be an indication of it's extended storage conditions.

Jay
