Congrats to Corey. Do you have any details about the place?

Good news! The Pasadena area really needed a good room. With Corey at the helm, I'm sure it'll do well. I'll try to swing by next weekend and report back.

Just for everybody, this is not a pool room, but a shop, repair and teaching facility with one training table set up.

The table plays great! Corey's shop is his long time dream and plans call for soon-to-be clinics and a lot of other stuff going on there.

Nice! Great to read.
C3 is a unique person. He seems driven to take life on his own terms.

Best wishes, Corey. Takes a special Man to tell the World how you'll have it!

I missed the fine print. Thanks Chris.

Still, it's great that Corey is following his dream.

new Poolroom

Back in the mid 70s I used to go to a poolroom named Jerrys on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena.
Is that still open ?

Ahhh, got me excited when I read "NEW POOL HALL." Anyways, just dropped by here yesterday for a new tip. Corey's an awesome guy and plays extremely well!

Good luck with the new business. I know you will do great because you do what you promise to do. Johnnyt

One Table

Man, tournaments are going to take a while. Is there free ice water and coffee??;)

Corey-good luck with your new business.

Hopefully, advertising is advertising....

Take care

I think you're talking about Jake's, near the heart of Old Town Pasadena. Yes, it's still open. They serve great burgers upstairs, and have a good pool room downstairs. It's not exactly a player's pool hall, but the regulars are somewhat competitive. No action to speak of really, but its success is not dependent on the upper echelon players. Friendly environment, and I give the tables a 6/10. There was also a hall called Q's just a few blocks east of Jake's, but that closed in 2005 I believe.

I thought I missed something...

How on earth could a new room open in my town w/out me knowing about it - LOL!

Thanks for all the kind words everybody!

Not a pool room, but I have a single "Dominguezed" GC1 w/4" corners with which to torture all visitors
Crown City Billiards is a billiards supply store, teaching/training facility, and cue repair shop. I also have my online store www.crowncitybilliards.com.

In my store, I carry all the latest and greatest that patrons "can" try out. Although, I can't really offer that on the web, I invite everyone to come by and try before you buy. If I don't have what you are looking for, I'll get it!

Aside from products, I offer individual and "seminar" style of instruction. And, I also offer full service, on site, cue repair services.

As far as pool rooms in Pasadena, there are only a few; Jerry's Billiards is still alive, but is certainly in need of renovation or better yet, relocation - and Jake's is an ok-ish pool room; however drinking, karaoke, live bands, and sports games is more the desired pastime there than pool - lastly, Q's is still open (Owned and operated by Barney's Beanery), they open after 4 or 6p w/free pool from 6-9p.

I'd love to see a "proper" pool room in this town...you never know...

As far as working, well now I am committed to working about 80-90 hours a week...and did you notice I cashed at the US Open 10-Ball!!! Yeah, I also had school last semester and I am still married - LOL!

P.S. Yes, free ice water, and I have a killer micro-roaster coffee house as my neighbor!

Thanks and best of luck with your new room.
The place was near the corner of Colorado Blvd and Mentor.

Wow, best of luck with the new venture, Corey. I'm happy for you and wish you well. When I'm up that way I'll make it a point to stop by.

Corey's new diggs

Hope things work out well and I'll stop by next time I am near LA.

Corey...Congrats on finally getting your shop and studio put together. I'm sure it will be a great place for you to give lessons. I look forward to stopping in the next time I'm in Pasadena! Good luck the biz!
