There was some controversy about this wood but from my findings it is pointing towards Canary wood. It is absolutely beautiful and just wait until you feel Jims new taper it is awesome!

I have a hard time calling this cue a plain jane because it really is a stunner. The wood has some real curl to it.

Like all of Jim Pierce's cues, Jim has a knack for finding awesome woods, and doing awesome things with them. They play like $1,000+ cues.
If you haven't hit with one, here's a great chance to have a great cue at a great price!

Why would there be controversy? Jim Pierce is alive and well, so if there is some question about what wood this cue is made from, simply call him up and ask him. If there is still some question, he can post to this thread.

Thank you for your insight and guidance but I have already contacted Jim and he was not 100% sure either. This is why I asked for opinions on the species of the wood.
