This was my wife's cue. She was thinking about selling it to buy a new fridge.
It is unchalked and unhit. It is something you may never see again, striped purpleheart tiltilist blank. The cue is beautiful!
She siad, "Can you sell that stick you gave me to buy me a fridge?". It never crossed my mind that I could buy it for me,till today!
My collection is now down to 4 cues. Two Scruggs and Two Cochrans!
Here is one of the Scuggs cues. I really think it is a one of a kind. Where the sap bled through the wood it removed the color.
Enjoy!
Nick :)

That is so funny, my girlfriend asked me the other day "Can you sell that fridge you gave me to buy a cue?"
Seriously speaking, you have a very nice cue. The slight imperfection gives it so much character. If you ever decide to sell the cue, please let me know, I might be interested if priced right.

Thank you.

I really think the same as you. The imperfections are the beauty. I would guess this titlist blank to be pre WWII!
It is a true one of a kind cue!
Thanks again,
Nick :)

unique

That's a really cool cue! I'm guessing Mr. Scruggs liked the wood too... enough to want to put his name on it.

Heard this.

I rember hearing everyone that saw the blank in the shop had to comment asking what kind of wood it was. It's old. And beautiful. The more you stare at the cue the more interesting it gets.
I know it is just a plain old purple heart Titlist conversion cue but sometimes more is less. This cue is just striking!

Nick,

Does it have a solid ivory joint? Anyway about it, she is truly a beautiful and unique cue.

Hay Riki

The ivory joint is not sleeved but the pin is set into the wood of the forearm. Maybe I will hit with it one day but I haven't yet! Inconcieveble!
Rember like I said I play with one cue. I hope you too are shooting with just one of your little monsters. Very under rated this playing with one cue thing,
Keep in touch Mr.G!
Nick :)

love it...

I agree with you Nick. Sometimes a simple cue can be just as eye-catching as the most ornate of cues. A beautiful cue for sure...by the way I am really liking the Scruggs I got from you a couple weeks ago...take care, Mark

What kinda Fridge does she want for the cue!?

Hiya Nick......what kind of fridge can I ship her for this lovely cue :D SWEET STICK ;)

It is always nice to hear that! That cue was one out of the cues I have that I am cutting back or trimming down. Down to 4 and a smasher!
I am glad someone is enjoying that cue. It is a hot rod! These cues are really built for a life time of enjoyment.
I keep telling myself if I sell two cues and buy one I will be down to three cues! Madness I tell you, all of you. By the way this will be one of the three!
But four is a good number! It took a long time to get down to four.
Any way Mr Mark you lucked out!
And thanks for the kind words!
Nick :)

Hey Nick 4 is a bad number for the chinese people.
I guess it does not concern you?:)))

should I call you if I decide to sell my burl TS?

Never say never.

This is not a for sale thread. I have to admit you guys make it hard to keep anything.
And I am listening!

Maybe I'm just confused. The photos don't look like purpleheart.

Fred

It is

When I laid it down next to a purple heart titlist it matched exactly in color and graining. I am not the best picture taker. I stink at it. The pictures are unedited to enhance color. Sometimes it is needed to show what you really see in person. Lighting is tricky stuff.
If you look at other post by many Azers you will notice the background changes in tint and color noticable to show the true colors in a cue. I just go ClEEk!
I haven't ever seen another titlist built with this hardwood striped the way this blank is. It is a freak blank.
Thanks for looking. This simple cue really gets alot of attention!

Nick :)

Nick, that grain doesn't look like any purpleheart I have ever seen. And, the color sure doesn't.

Let the cue sit in the direct sunlight for a day and see if it turns purple. That will show if it is purpleheart.
