I am looking for forum member SoftShot. He said that if I did a video showing myself doing spin shots using Kamui Chalk that he would do a video diong the same spin shots with drywall.

So I did one using Kamui and Masters chalk and have yet to see SoftShot's video. He said that he would embarass me in front of everyone by doing all the same shots I did using drywall on his tip instead of chalk.

So SoftShot, where are you? Let's see it. I am impatiently waiting for you to show us all that drywall is better than what we know as pool chalk.

Are you secretly testing different brands of drywall? Figuring out how to chalk with it? What's up?

You make some ridiculous challenge publicly and then just disappear? Here is your challenge - http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=3203838&postcount=36

Now I see you have been hanging out in NPR. I can understand how those "discussions" can suck you in and take up a bunch of time. But in the interest of backing up your challenge and "putting the hype to rest" I would like to see you prove to us that you are not a liar or simply admit that you are wrong and apologize.

Or prove that drywall is better than chalk so we can all start using it instead. Either way do something.

John, clearly, I underestimated you. You do not even need a door knob to argue with. Dry wall will suffice, lol.

Dang it John.... If you are going to show us the challenge at least post links to the videos you did.... While I have my doubts to Softshot pulling it off I do have quite a bit of drywall on my hands thanks to Tropical Storm Lee, the finder of my missing roofing shingle........

You are picking a fight with the guy who challenged Chris Bartram and then posted a video of his draw stroke where he managed to shoot in a hanger and draw the cue ball back a whopping half table...On a barbox...

Honestly, with that stroke I doubt he could shoot your shots with any kind of chalk. Much less drywall.

Yep. If someone wants to act like an idiot and troll in a thread then they should back up their claims or be outed. I am an idiot but at least I will try to back up my claims on video.

I'm still waiting for your video showing the shots that can only be made with Kamui Miracle chalk

LOL - I didn't know that. He picked the fight I just wanted to to publicly ask him to back up his side of it.

I figured he'd crawfish and he did. Maybe now he will stay in NPR and out of the threads talking about pool.

I showed them. Let's settle for you showing any similar shots made with drywall.

Let's leave Kamui off the table and just do the shots made with Masters. You said you wanted to embarrass me so hop to it.

I believe the fact is that you can't do it. You made a claim you can't and won't back up.

Point. Set. Match.

That's all I wanted.

link me to the video.. I can't even find the thread

John, it took a good deal of balls to post that, you miscued a good deal of times for as many shots that you took. I will try and do a video sometime using either Masters or Blue Diamond doing some of the shots in your video if no one else does. It looks like we have a winner....Masters Chalk!

P.S. To really do this test we need a robot with a perfect stroke every time shooting the same exact shots with the same force. That would be an interesting and true test.

I think that it's important to remember that I was going way out on the cue ball on every shot. And I did not chalk in between shots.

Also I was rushing quite a bit to get in as much as I could to allow my employees some table time during their lunch hour.

I do NOT feel that Masters is the winner. If you look at it objectively then after rechalking with Kamui the first miscue happened after ten shots and with Masters it happened after 7 shots. So if you wanted to play extrapolation games you could say that Kamui lasted 30% longer but obviously this cannot be used to make any conclusive statement.

What I liked best was laying down a layer of Kamui and then putting Masters on top of it. I have since used that technique in a money match and it worked great. That combination feels great actually and may really be the best solution.

I agree about needing some sort of test which takes the human error out of the picture. To me that's on Kamui since they are the ones wanting to charge 100x times the price of Master's chalk with claims of superior performance. I do "feel" like it's better than Masters but how much better is really up in the air for me at this point.

I do not like the pasty feel of the Kamui, they need to give it some grit like the Masters has IMO. Kamui basically got 2 tries in the video, your first run with the Kamui was bad (perhaps mechanic issues), the 2nd was better. I think the video proves that the price difference is just not warranted IMO, nothing against Kamui as I love the tips, I am loyal and only play with a Kamui black medium, its the best tip ever...for me. Maybe Kamui could try the combination like you have and improve the product, they feel its the best as it is. Dust off that Meucci Robot and lets see some test.

John...John...John,

I watched the video. I'm afraid softshot might be able to accomplish those shots with drywall. :rotflmao1:

Thank God that wasn't an advertising video for Kumui.

Well I doubt it but any of you are free to take his place. If you think that drawing the ball with extreme spin to the spots I did it is easy with drywall then go for it.

If I do another video in better conditions and warm up before hand does that mean Kamui is now great?

Or maybe if I go get a better player and let him do the shots?

The point is that you and everyone else shouldn't try to make this out to be more than it is. It's not scientific and is hampered by many factors of which the biggest is the guy shooting.

Now I see why your miscue clinic was moved to the dungeon.. it was an attempt to save Kamui's name LOL

I'll try to get my response filmed tomorrow afternoon if I can find the time
