pretty cue, all Chucks cues play reallll well. Could not be easier to do business with also.

If you don't know about Chuck and his cues you have a treat in store for you. Nobody makes a better hitting cue.. nobody. Solid as a rock. Chuck himself is an extremely good guy. You'lll not find anyone easier to deal with or more trustworthy than Chuck. I've bought seven of his cues and they all have beautiful finish and play perfectly.

Is this cue still available? How would you describe the hit?

I have 6 of Chuck's cues and the hit is similar on all, despite the differences in construction. I guess it's the wood pin... but I don't know enough about cue construction to be able to pin it down

Anyway.... all of my Starkey cues, and a couple others that I used to own, hit very strongly. They feel extremely solid, a very crisp vibration and tone to the hit. I get a feeling that the cb is going exactly where I wanted it to go and with the sense of feel comes confidence that I can feel the proper distance and spin.

When I play with one of my Chuck Starkey cues it feels like I can control the shot because every nuance of the shot seems to come back through the cue and into my hands. I think it's that wood pin. Nothing feels muted.. and I like that. I want to feel, and hear, every vibration and Chuck's cues afford me that luxury.

I recently got from Chuck a 16 oz, solid maple butt, with a 12 mm Super Pro tip and no ferrule. Now were talking vibrant! And I love it!!

Jay Helfert said that his Starkey felt more like a one piece cue than any he'd ever hit. I haven't hit enough one piece cues to know... at least not since the 1950's.... before I got my own cue.

Thanks Jim,

That was a great description. I don't know what you do for work, but if it isn't copy writing, you're in the wrong profession. You really captured the essence of Chuck's cues, and that's a darn hard thing to do. Chuck should count himself blessed he has such an eloquent champion (but from your praise, I gather he earned it). Thanks again.

we used that wood pin on the deano cues and i loved the hit,i bet these cues do play nice, feel similar to a one piece cue,the screw is dependable and you should expect it to work for a long while

Very unique looking cue. I have a Deano with a wood pin and another cue with no ferrule. I can imagine what it would feel like if you combined the two.
I like that kind of hit. Reasonable price too.

see?

it's all in the telling. I completely agree with what Jim is saying, and I am in the Chuck's Cues Fan Club. But my description of the hit, is the opposite .... I have always described it as quiet, with none of the noise that I have come to associate with jointed cues. Not that the noise is bad, it is just that when I hit with one of Chuck's cues, I notice what is gone ..... the vibration, the ... for lack of a better descriptor, noise.

Thanks guys. I got a hold of Chuck. Super guy to talk to. And Jim, I did tell him that your description really sold me on his cues. I'll let you know my impressions when I get mine and have a chance to play some racks.

I hope you like it. I can't imagine not likeing a Chuck Starkey cue. Especially if you like a crisp feel when the tip strikes the cb.

-Chuck Starky

I just wanted to join in the chorus of well deserved praise that is sung for Chuck and his cues -as the other folks said his cues play great and he is a pleasure to deal with.

I own a number of other cues made by some of the best cue makers that play pretty strong, If you look at the total package in my humble experience/opinion you just can't go wrong with a Chuck Starkey cue purchase.

I bought a cue from Chuck maybe 5 years ago off of ebay and have never met him - talked to him once by phone and emailed him 1 or 2 times. He treated me far better then other cuemakers I purchased cues from for many more dollars. I owned my cue for 2 years or more and called him because the ID/logo? thing he puts on his cue was coming off (totaly my fault)and based on my cue (how much I like it) and the input I got from other starkey cue owners (how they felt about their starkey's) and all the positive stuff I read on this forum about starkey. I thought these cues are gonna do nothing but go up in value. It might help to be able to prove it is indeed a starkey cue. Thats when I called him and sheepishly admitted I had screwed it up and asked if he could rectify that stuation for me. Chuck says it is probably past due for a good cleaning and polishing by now anyway "why don't you send it to me and I'll not only resolve the situation with the logo? I'll give it a good cleaning too"

Why would a guy take the time to write this whole drawn out post? Because the man did all that and DID NOT EVEN CHARGE ME FOR THE RETURN SHIPPING. THE CUE COME BACK LOOKING LIKE BRAND NEW.

He treated me like he valued my business.

If any of you guys are trying to make up your mind you will not go wrong if you deal with /chuck
