JF - Fitz Cues!!

I am putting some information on here to see if there is interest for these cues. The cuemaker is a good friend of mine and he makes some amazing cues. He is out of Lubbock, Tx. He also has some higher end cues as well. He splices all of his points and they look great, he does NOT buy blanks. He also does full spliced cues with veneers.

This cuemaker can do anything you come up with. I want to see what the interest is like and then I can start taking orders or sell the available cues that he has. His website is www.sscues.com. That will give you some information about him. The picture shows his available playing cues, and as I said, he also has some higher end cues available that I can get pictures of. Let me know what you think!!

PRICES:
Hustlers start @ $250
4point/2veneer start @375

These are base prices and obviously go up with the design of the cue.

PAUL WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING WHEN I CALLED, SO THESE DESCRIPTIONS AND PRICES MAY NOT BE EXACT! I AM GOING OFF WHAT I REMEMBER OF THE CUES!

Prices for the picture top to bottom:
1. Hustler w/steel joint - $300
2. 4 ebony points/4 veneers - $475
3. 4 cocobolo points/4 veneers - $475
4. 5 amboyna points/2 veneers/amboyna & maple inlays in butt/stacked leather wrap, ivory butt, joint, ferrule(s) - $700
5. SOLD - 4 ebony points/4veneer/stacked leather wrap, ivory inlays, joint, and ferrule(s)
6. NFS - 4 short maple points/cocobolo forearm/2 veneers, stitch rings
7. 5 amboyna points/2 veneers/amboyna window inlays, ivory ferrule(s) - $550
8. 4 cocobolo points/4 veneers - $475
9. 4 ebony points/4 veneers - $475
10. 4 ebony points/4 veneers - $475
11. 4 cocobolo points/2veneers/rings - $475

How about taking a sampling of 3 cues at different levels and giving us some estimated pricing?
Nice looking cues from what I can see, but I gotta tell ya, the website SUCKS.

Website

Yeah, the website needs alot of work, but it at least gives you information about the cuemaker. I will get more pictures when I can. He has to send them to me, but I'll keep posting on them. I'll have an estimated price list posted later this evening as well! Thanks for the input.

S&S cues

I am here in Lubbock, and have tried a few of his cues. Paul does a great job, and good customer service. Just haven't had the money to buy one, but expect to take the plunge very soon. Recommend trying out his work to anybody wanting to give an up-n-coming cuemaker a chance. Look forward to seeing what John posts.

Michael

Thanks

Thanks for sharing your opinion!

His cues are reasonably priced and are roughly $400-$450 for a classic 4-point with veneers and up. It just depends on what you want made. I have had a few pass through my hands and have loved all of them. I've helped him get a lot of business just because I really believe in his cues and he will do whatever he can to make it a pleasant deal and guarantee his work too! Like I said, he can do anything that you want!!

The website is mainly for information on Paul, but I'll post pictures of his cues when I get them.

Tell him to lose the flash website. Most people ABSOLUTELY HATE them, myself included :o
The website was just for info. I would rather have comments on his cues and not his website. His website is old and hasn't been updated in quite awhile and needs alot of work. I appreciate the comments; however, I want to see the interest in his cues. Thanks.

I first met Paul year before last at an event south of Dallas then finally tracked him down again last summer. When I was ready to get serious I made the drive to Lubbock and spent half a day testing several cues he had to get an idea what felt best to me.
Ever dealt with the guy that tells you if you chalk it it's your's? That's not Paul. He encourages customers to hit anything he's got.
I made the trip back to Lubbock to pick mine up during the Fast Eddies tour stop and can only say good things about the process. Was hoping he would make it to this weekends Viking stop in Dallas at Billiard Den.
If I can mange to take clear/close pics I'll post mine.

Thanks for your opinions. You are definitely correct, he wants you to try out his cues....how will you know if you like one if you don't hit with it. That's his opinion. He is going to try and make the Viking stop if he can.

If I could get some prices I'd be interested. Good content on the website. No complaints from me. Prices would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

These cues look real good! If I was still in the market for a playing cue, I'd have no problems giving this guy a try...

Could you tell us a little more about his cue specs, though? For instance, I see he tends to stick to a SS joint collared cue...but the pin looks pretty big in the pics...does he use a Radial Pin on his cues?.......

- What kind of ferrules/tips does he put on his standard shafts?
- Does each cue come with one shaft or two for the stated price? (Guessing one from the pic, but just wanted to make sure)
- Typical range for the balance point on his cues? Or at least this batch.
- Corresponding weights for each cue? And does he use weight bolts?
- Any moderately useful description of the shaft taper? And typical shaft weight to be expected?

I'm hoping to see someone pick one up on here. Looks like a good deal for those cues at those asking prices...

Specs

He does like SS joints. He does all size pins combined with SS joint, Piloted SS joint, ivory, alt. ivory, etc... He can do anything you want, because he cuts his own joints. He personally likes SS joints. He was using the Radial pins as his main pin for awhile, but he has done cues with all pins.

-Ferrules are usually an Ivorine 3 or 4 I believe. He does like Ivory ferrules also. Tips are usually a triangle, but can do whatever you want.
-Most cues come with one shaft, but becomes two for the more expensive cues. He also does great deals on extra shafts.
-The balance point....well, some of his cues are naturally weighted and some have a weight bolt, so the balance point differs with materials, i.e. SS joints compared to Ivory, ebony butt compared to maple, as well as the bolt....thus the weight changes throughout the cue. I will see if he has a general balance point he goes for though.
-In general, and don't quote me on this, but I think he stays around the 19oz range unless otherwise specified. I would have to have him go over those cues with me to give exact weights.
-I will also have to get back to you on the shaft taper and weight. He has his own custom taper.

Thanks for the questions, I hope I have helped by answering what I can and I'll see if I can get the rest of the info soon! Thanks for looking!!

And how about the texas cue? been looking for a mesquite cue... what's the price on those?
I spoke to him yesterday. He has received alot of requests for the Texas cue. I know that he hasn't made those lately, but he may be doing those again because of the numerous requests. I'll see what his thoughts are on that and get back to you!
