Have you ever caught someone walking off with your cue?

Two words....body bag!!!

I feel for you, I had a close call with a nice sneaky once. I was pretty pissed, even if he walked off without me seeing him, the case had my name on it in big bold letters.

I'll tell you now, if I EVER turned around and saw someone walking away with my cue there wouldn't be a word said. There would be some serious ass whooping going one. Yeah, internet tough guy? Trust me, I have never once thought that I am a bad ass. I will go out of my way to avoid confrontations and hitting someone would be my last choice in a matter. Not for this one though. Walk off with my cue and feel the wrath of MULLY.

I FEEL ya Mully. In my HEART I would want to do the same thing...but that pesky assault and battery thing is inconvenient...and the medical/dental bills could be a bit$H.

Thing to do is get WAY up in his face...humiliation would probably hurt him as much or more as a whoopin' and with any luck, he might take the first shot at which point you can make him wish he had never been born....legally!

Hell, if you just flexed those guns you've got the guy would probably have pissed himself!!

I've laid my cue on the table while I was talking to someone and looked away for a moment. When I looked up someone had picked it up and was playing with it on a nearby table. GRRRRRRR!!!!!

He gave a lame excuse about how he thought it was his cousin's cue but I have no doubt that he did it on purpose. Another 5 seconds and he would have been out of sight.

Is anyone else interested in an rf proximity device that sounds an alarm if your cue gets more than 15 feet away from a paired device you keep on your belt?

I recently bought several expensive cues and case and thought the same. do they make such a device?

I don't know you look a little scrawny to me.

Once I played in a poolhall with others. I was breaking, so I put my playing cue away. Someone I know has a cue looking almost the same as mine. Mine was triple the value as his, with valuable inlays. So he picked up my cue to play. When I go back to my playing cue, I grapped his cue (the only cue leaning on the wall). It felt very light, his one was 17oz, mine 18.3oz. So I started to chalk the cue. The ferrule look really dirty. So I did a close look to the cue and notice, it wasn't mine. I asked him to give my cue back ;

Happened to a friend of mine a few months ago, when one of the bangers a few tables away thought my buddy's Richard Black was a house cue....

Honest mistake, but man....I had to try real hard to hold my friend back from pummeling this guy in front of his girlfriend.....

A cue is like an extension of one's self. Taking it away is like taking away an arm or a leg....

I always thought it was too much trouble but I see some players who will put their cues/case under the table.. Real hard for someone to snatch something up then if it's under the table your playing on.

Great idea to prevent that from happenin but a lot of bending over.

Crap happens way too much now......................

The funny thing about you saying this is.....


When I was younger, 13, 14... I used to play roughly 10 hours a day.. Got to the point where it felt weird to not have a cue in my hand..

I would be out, Some place other than the pool room, Which wasn't much back then, and find myself practicing the air stroke.. haha

I used to love pool so much.

I once taped a $100 bill to a Moochie I left it propped outside the poolroom in the parking lot. They took the bill & left the Moochie.

I've had the same thing happen and you're right. Another 5-seconds and it would have been gone, it can happen quickly. I've had it happen several times, but I'm yet to lose anything more that a chalker and a couple packs of cigarettes.

When you find someone actualy playing with the cue, it looks innocent but incredibly stupid.

One time was questionable and could have been an honest mistake but if it was, again incredibly stupid. I watched her walk all the way across a very large room straight to my cue leaning against the wall and grab it.
What do you do.

Another time I was letting someone else use a cue, and it disappeared when he set it down to break. It showed up somewhere else after all hell broke out. It happened so fast that all I could do is run to the front door thinking that whoever had it wasn't getting out alive, and they stuck it in one of the floor racks.

The last one was blatant, I knew the kid, caught him in the parking lot putting it in his trunk, and he said "I thought it was my cue" which I knew was BS but I just grabbed the cue and went back in to the pool hall.

Each time the excuses were lame and I keep forgetting how fast it can happen. Also, it doesn't matter how nice the place is, it can happen anywhere.
