You guys that fly, how do you pack and transport your cues on with an airline. I am afraid to send my daily Bentley through the luggage system at the airport. Any suggestions???

Thanks.

i travel alot! The TSA does not care if you carry your cues on the plane, its the airlines that dont want you to do it. Ive been taking my cue thru security and when i board they make me put it up in their front coat closet, just as they would with a baby stroller.

Ive tried it 5 times and succeeded 4. The time it didnt work they made me check it:mad:

Your other best option is to FedEx it to yourself.

Hope that helped.

You can actually buy metal travel cases which your cue case fits into. Check in catalogues or on line.

I have always put my pool case in my suitcase and checked it. I had no problems until the last time i flew.
I was flying standby and they already put out bags on the plane. But i couldnt get on.. So there went my cues to Idaho with out me. I was kinda freaking out.

I got them back.
But i will NEVER check my cues in again(at least if i am flying standby) Either ship them or try to carry on like a stroller or wheel chair.

Not sure which airlines you travel on, but if tweasers are considered a weapon a pool cue certainly is. Pool cues have to be checked with the baggage. I recommend getting a hard case to put it in.

I keep mine in an old Fellini case which I pack in a big Samsonite Travel Vault. United has lost it 3 times, once for over a week, but I still have it. I fly at least 50K miles a year, all over the world, and still take it everywhere.

Print a page with your name, address, phone number, etc., and scatter a few copies inside your luggage. That way, if the luggage tags get ripped off (what always happens to me) they can identify it when they open it.

And don't get a black suitcase (mine is green.) The less it looks like other people's bags, the faster they will be able to locate it if it gets lost.

That's what I do when I pack the cuesticks in a suitcase. I make sure they are wrapped with clothing to protect them. I had to criss-cross two sticks, though, in the large suitcase, though. I have to admit, I was nervous, but they arrived in good shape, two butts and two shafts! :p

Go to Walmart and for $15-$20 you can buy a bag that is used to carry softball/baseball bats. It fits your case perfect and you can also put other items in it like shoes, etc. I have used this for 10 years going to Vegas with never a problem.

Get yourself a travel cue made to the same specs as your player. Fits inside your checked roller bag.

Cue: Lebow
Case: Chas

Time for a new set of balls Lou.

hmmm. They do kinda look like a set of clay balls, don't they. But actually, they're a pretty nice set of Centennials at a now defunct pool hall I'd frequent.

I do have my own set of Super Aramiths though, for when the need arises :-)
