How do you assign 3rd place in a tourny? - 11-02-2009, 02:33 PM

Edited for spelling

Wasn't quite sure where to ask this question, figured if anyone knows, it would be the owners that run the tourneys. Years ago, I ran quite a few tourneys, but having been awhile, my brain has rusted abit. I ran my first tournament today using Ingenpool V2.3. All went smooth till we got to 3 and fourth places. Using the provided screen capture, could someone help me out and explain how to assign 3rd? Should there be two third places or do they playoff for 3rd?

Pardon the large picture. Should have Cort and Erik played for 3rd? Thanks in advance!

the players would have to play each other or split 3rd place if tournament does not pay 4th place if the tournment would have been a double elimination it would have no problem

Single elimination places finish like this:

1st
2nd
3/4th
5/8
9/16
17/32

There is not a 3rd place in a single elimination.

I always did it so whoever won the most games between 3rd and 4th would get 3rd, a tie was a one game play-off

Very cool, thanks for the help, looks like we might have a playoff for third then. The amount of cash for 3 and 4th place would be very small. I'd love to do double elimination, however the attention span around here is the size of a chihuahua. : P
Cheers!
