Using the ole Nudge to make a Break Ball - 11-03-2009, 05:29 PM

Hey,

This is one of the many examples of why i love 14.1, you get to explore your creative side of the game.

I Stepped to the table with ball in hand in the kitchen , without a great break shot in sight. i didnt get to where i wanted to be on the first shot, so i re-evuated and got there on the second shot!

So i tried to create one, similar to one i had seen in a match from the 2009 Derby City 14.1

i Guess watchin those 14.1 dvd's really does help !

Steve

Nice "maufacturing" of a break ball. Kind of got bad on the key ball but made it work. I thought you might roll through that shot and shoot the key ball on the side but your way worked well. Interesting break shot jumping a bit eh. Just the 2 cents of a banger . So what was your run after that?

just a few balls, wasnt shooting very that well that day. Charlie and i were just lookin to loosen up a bit that afternoon.

I had a high run of 35, and charlie had a 30 for the day. we have them on video as well, but the file sizes are too large to post. until i figure out better video output settings.

when i figure it out i will post them up !

Not very high, but like i said we were just tryin to loosen up and shake off the bad mumbo jumbo that we have been both faced with lately.

Thanks For Watchin
Steve

That was a nice nudge from above. You don't see those as often. Usually from the side near the triangle or bouncing off the bottom or the side with the cue ball. Very nice, especially if you shot that one up top in order to get a good position from which to play the shot.

yeah i won the match, but like i said we just went out to shake off the bad mumbo jumbo. and i guess it worked, because 3 days later in league i set the high run of 48 and won both of my matches with bonus points........ so that moved me up into 2nd place..

Thanks
Steve

yup, read in another thread that u *owned* your friend in that match- congratz

last week ve had my first league match after 10 years -_- ...lol. was right from beginnin with bad feeling- too many mistakes- not really instroke so from 60-50 on i just played the *easy* balls and ended each innning with a safety- successfully at the end because oponnent didn t make one point in the next 17 innings til i ran out. he was a lil pissed
the game itself was nearly an apocalypse- but the safeties were almost 100 % . hope after some games and a bit more training it will be a bit more *straight-pool*, lol^^ but really didn t thaught that i would have that kind of *nerves*, even after my long break- felt like my first league game at all

gogo Steve- your re on a really good way!
