Live vs recorded - 11-07-2009, 06:43 AM

We currently record, edit and publish our weekly 9-ball challenge matchs (1 Amateur and 1 Elite match)

We're in Quebec (Canada) so it's all in french (for now)

http://vimeo.com/channels/armmx

We have an official website that annonce the matchs everyweek and we're trying to add audio interviews as much as we can.

http://www.allerretour.ca

It's more work but I find the image quality better and less lag than livestreams.

We're planning to do a livestream for the big final next june

What do you think ? Can I achieve similar results with livestream ?

Thanks

p.s. If you want to receive updates on our project, you can subscribe to our mailing list (bottom left) on our website www.allerretour.ca

I have to agree... recorded video is better all round mostly because:

- live streams are a one off opportunity and most viewers will either be competing at the event or indisposed at the time.

- the recorded video can be viewed at higher quality by everyone at anytime well into the future.

- cameras usually cannot stream and record high quality at the same time so you are relying on stream backup for your archive which is not of much better quality than the stream... most computers cannot backup on higher quality settings because they don't have the memory resources to keep up.
