This coming Saturday at 9pm est we are having a live open house via the internet. On either UStream or JustinTV we will attempt to broadcast our first open look at our workshop and what goes into JB Cases and the related brands we work on.

We will be taking case questions via chat and I will answer them live on air.

I will also be reviewing a few cases such as the J.E.F case, It's George, Ron Thomas, Jack Justis and of course our own brands such as JB Cases, J.Flowers, Sterling Wave, GTF, and any others that you all might want to see that I happen to have handy.

We will be dissecting the cases live and going over all comparison points.

If you ever wanted to know how a cue case is made then this is a good opportunity to participate. If you can't make it then the video will be available through multiple channels at a later date.

I will post the exact link as soon as I work out the details of which provider I will use.

See you then,

John Barton - JB Cases

I can't wait.............

Sounds pretty cool, I will be live streaming on Saturday too, but if the times are different maybe I can check it out. Perhaps you can tease me with a glimpse of my case in the works.

My work schedule will preclude me watching this - hope I can catch a "make up" time frame. I'd also consider buying a video of such a presentation...

Update:

The show will go on as scheduled. Today in testing we noticed that not everyone sees the same thing at the same time. This has to do with each person's buffer on their computers. So what you are likely to see is not in real real time but slightly delayed.

Because of this I am going to do my presentation in the following manner.

First I am going to introduce our shop and the things we do to build cases with the focus here being on the exterior shell, handles straps, etc.... Topics I will cover are quality of fit and finish, user experience, and how we experiment with different ways to build the case.

Secondly I will cover my philosophy on cue protection and show various solutions that I have come up with. I will introduce the brands which we are involved with that are on teh market now, from mass production to the one of a kind cases we do.

Then I will do some comparsions of what we and what other case makers are doing now.

Then I will answer your questions on any aspect of case making or life, love and whatever. :-)

Please type your questions here if you want to and I will answer them first when the camera is on.

For better or worse this is going to be done and if it doesn't go so well due to problems with my computer, the internet, bandwidth, or whatever then I will try it again soon with better equipment. In any event it will be recorded so I can watch it and learn how to do it better next time.

Thank you,

John Barton - JB Cases

Subscribing to this thread so I'll be reminded. Cool idea John. Looking forward to watching.

Will you be live and in person at the DCC this year?

Unfortunately I won't be at the DCC. I wanted to go and had planned to but family first this year as I am taking my wife and our baby Jessie on their first trip to the USA in December and January.

I will be at the Valley Forge Super Billiards Expo though in March if you can make it there.

I think that this year will be the largest and most diverse display of cases I have ever had on display.

I've got a conflict at that time. Could you post the video somewhere where I might be able to view it at a later time? That would be most helpful. Does YouTube allow long videos ??? That's a site that is familiar to most folks.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry: DCC ???

Derby City Classic - the disneyland of pool. Held every January in Louisville KY or thereabouts. The most unreal tournament experience on Earth. Sadly it gone from the Executive West which lent a lot of the charm and authenticity to the atmosphere that Greg Sullivan wanted to recreate from the Johnston City events.

I was fortunate to attend twice. Some of the best sleepless time I have ever spent.

An amazing event that is almost beyond description. And it keeps growing with more and more events.

Every pool player owes it to themselves to attend at least one DCC in their lives.

Then you can die saying you saw real pool played.

Yes. I already said I would do so. And I will post it on YouTube and every video hosting site I can find.

Okay. I misunderstood. JB Cases web site states the NC address as "Our U. S. Mailing Address". Silly me. I thought you lived there!

I understand better, now, why you are so bullish on your manufacturing location. You LIVE there. And of course are interested in helping their people and their economy.

Sorry John, I misunderstood. My bad.
