The Perfect Game was painted by Michael Myers.

The life sized painting - 13 by 7 foot - depicts Cliff Thorburn's 147 at the Crucible in 1983.

It took a year to create. Myers got the BBC tapes and made hundreds of stills from the high angle looking down on the table. He covered each of the frames with a grid, and followed the path of the balls with each stroke.

The Perfect Game was unveiled at the World Championship in 2007 and now hangs in the Mercure St. Paul’s Hotel, next door to the Crucible in Sheffield.

Myers was a pioneer in rock video. In 1970 he filmed the Isle of Wight music festival, featuring Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, the Doors, Joni Mitchell, and the Who. In the audience were John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Elton John. He also filmed Santana's first European tour.

Myers died in Toronto on December 10, 2010, from lung cancer.
