Why doesnt all these top players gamble against one and other,i know that a few do but not many,is it because most of them become good friends,by meeting all the time at the tournaments,or is it a lot of them want to keep their speed from showing,i know if i played like, say mike dechaine speed i would be trying to gamble against everybody, now iam not singling mike out here, iam just using his speed for and example.

Like I said b4: most players motto is: NO STEAL,NO DEAL!!!!!

I beleive players skill level is much better known than in the 80's.
In Davenport Iowa road players would come through weekly. Now if a player could beat Jessie Bowman they could make $5,000 to $10,000 but nobody comes through town.

Probably because just aren't into gambling. Also, they don't make a ton of money, so gambling it away may not be the best idea.

One reason is they want new money. If they played each other all they would be doing is trading money. In the long run they would lose out to the house in table time.

Most times if they do play each other it is because of a backer. Thos puts new money into the pot as it is not theirs.

I don't know where you got the idea that they don't gamble. you can read many stories of them winning a tournament and then losing it gambling on somethig else like the ponies, crap or 21 tables.
