Chalk/Miscues: How Many Shots Can You Do?`

How many consecutive shots can you take without re-chalking and/or miscueing? Today, I was at the PH just shooting 10-ball racks, then throwing them back out, running racks, and I remembered a "new" chalkmaker saying you only have to chalk once a rack (or something like that). So, I scuffed my Kamui S tip, chalked with Master pre-flag green (leaded), and began to count my shots without re-chalking to see how many I could shoot before a miscue. A short time later, a couple friends came by and wanted to play sets...at that time I was in the mid-50's. I decided to stop and play sets when I was at 62. This is 62 consecutive shots without chalking or miscueing, and no idea how far it could go. I was trying to run racks, not doing anything any different than normal. Some of the shots were table-length draws, some were high inside 3 rail follows...not playing any different than I usually do in terms of spin or speed. Makes me wonder how many I could have done before a miscue. How many can you do? What is your tip and starting chalk?
:p

interesting, but I would be scared to death to draw the cueball without chalking, I think that I could go for hundreds of shots without chalking but I will only do stop shots, and stun shots, and semi-follow shots, and I don't need to chalk for these, but with Draws it will be tough.

Agree. Would really depend on what type of shots you are making. I will never know the answer though because I chalk after every shot.

I did nothing different than I usually do. If the shot needed draw, I drew it without regard to anything but position. I'm not saying I did 62 consecutive draw shots, but I played normal pool without chalking for 62 consecutive shots without miscueing, and could have gone longer. I'm in the habit of chalking before each shot too, like almost everybody else, so that made me wonder about the claims of the new chalk.
:p

The vast majority of miscues are a direct result of a poorly stroke CB and not the absence of chalk. I can often go several games without chalking and not think twice about it.
