George Fels, Freddy Bentivega and other well know personalities do an excellent job for commentary for this straight pool qualifier.

The following link is of our own Lou Figueroa and Bob Cozzolino: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/16196541

There are several other recorded straight pool matches from this qualifier and you can view them on the side screen and watch them at a later date.

George knows straight pool. It was my first time hearing him do commentary and he informs the listener/viewer of many insights into this fascinating game.

Thanks, Joey, but I am about to leave for the pool hall. Will this be going ontomorrow or can I find the recorded matches on youtube?

Curly and Steve did a wonderful job streaming the event.

http://live2ustreams.com/

George Fels did commentary from the beginning at noon to about 2:30 in the morning and never ran out of steam.

He was joined in the booth by Fred Bentivegna, Ron Shepard, Lou Figueroa, and Jeff Carter.

Even when the contestants are not running a lot of balls, you get an education in straight pool because George and his sidekicks are explaining what maybe the player should have done.

Thanks, wasn't able to watch live, or go there, I was in Chicago
visiting but not the type of things I could have slipped away from for a couple of hours.

Lou,

No need for a reason - we know you play way better than that. Nobody can play perfect all the time. Nothing is more frustrating than when you feel like you should run a TON of balls and you just can't settled (or as Sean Leinen says, "bond with your run").

Thanks, Spider. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

Lou, you played ok. I'm sure you would / could have done better. By the way, I've been the bug too many times to count..............

Thanks for the encouraging words. All I know is that I'm afraid to use any pesticide out in the garden this week :-)

Lou Figueroa
just playin' it safe

You deserve credit for giving it a shot. Where do you play mostly in St Louis, Cue & Cushion?

Thanks, Al.

The part about C&C though is sooooooooooooooooo funny, lol.

a hem. No. I play at The Break.

Lou Figueroa
still chuckling

You're right JoeyA, props to the commentary indeed! Even if the match was a lopsided one, the genuine enthusiasm and knowledge of the proper play of the game made each moment a very interesting one.

It would be cool to hear from the players who may have played back the matches since then, and see what they think about some of the things that were said about their games in the stream?

"T", that is an excellent idea. I know it takes time to sit there and go through your own match but that would be kind of cool for the participants to refer to key areas of the videos and make remarks.

When I have additional time on my hands, I plan to review some of the other matches. I only got a chance to watch my buddy Luigi, who looked like he was still recovering from his vacationing. I wouldn't want to bet against Lou on his next straight pool outting...............

I am watching mine 10 minutes at a time. That is all the pain and suffering I can endure at one sitting :-)

Holy shee-at, Joey!!! I owe you the double on-camera chest-pump, damnit! (Totally forgot in the shock of being called for the TV table.)

I can tell you that I did thoroughly enjoy commentating with Mr. Fels on the Jeff M.and Tom K. match.

You might try them again Patrick. They seem a little slow to load at the beginning making it seem like they don't play but they seem to be working OK for me.
