Oh Michael

That is soooo sweet. Could you please tell me what year that is? I'm done trying to squint at the forearm pic. Are the every other dots on the trim rings the yin/yang dealy?

Thanks

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

They are yin/yangs.

Sorry for the pictures quality. They will be MUCH, MUCH better once I get the showroom situated.

By the way, we met once. I noticed you listen to quite a lot of music. So do I. In fact, I am dabbling with playing drums right now.

Monte (atthecat here) is a pro drummer and a cue and table kinda guy that can play a little....

We met at that cue auction where Bill Grassley stole the world.

What year did Dennis make that monster?

I think I sold a Schon cue to Monte (atthecat). Maybe I can trade a cue for some drum lesssons with him. :)

The cue is made in 03? The date says 12-03-03.

Very difficult inlays

I had the privilege of hanging out at Dennis's shop frequently during the last six years. At one Sean Mullaney owned this cue and it was in the shop for some reason. It is a very, very nice cue. Dennis told me the ying-yang were some of the most difficult he has ever done. Fitting the curves together perfectly was particularly tedious and then the go inside the gold rings. A truly spectacular accomplishment by Dennis.

My trade offer involves the following pristine cues, all worth anywhere from $2000 to $3500 each.
Some haven't been chalked or chalked a couple of times.

  • South West
  • James White
  • Tim Scruggs
  • Judd Fuller
  • Dave Kikel

I will also throw in a nice original 2x4 J. Flowers case, and possible variations to the cues listed above.
May have to keep the unchalked Scruggs though after looking at it again.

Thanks (I met you at the Kellerman auction)

The cue is truly amazing. Thank you for the information.

Hello Ted,

I would consider the Scruggs, White and South West as trade-ins.

Let me know what you have in mind.

You were shooting next to my table at Table Steaks pool hall. I remember you well.

Regards,
Michael.

Yup a Schon sounds like Monte. I think if you want his attention nowadays, come at Monte with a Tasc. He's moving right up in his cue obsession.

Speaking of moving up, this Searing is getting near the top of the heap.

Yup, 2003.

Great cue. There are guys arguably close, but Searing has to be the most "in fashion" cue maker in today's market.

Thanks

Kevin

Can I say very nice Searing

:-) Brutal edit. You should have left it as you wrote it. Sometimes we all step in it once in a while.

When I get super rich I am hiring Dennis as my cuemaker. He will have the freedom to spend all year experimenting as he likes to do as long as he produces one cue a year for me. Meticulous is much too boring a word to describe his approach to cue making.

When you hit with a Searing you want to close your eyes, that's how good they feel. Well that was my feeling anyway when I got to shoot some with one.

Truly a great cue maker and one of those who deserves every bit of praise that comes his way.

Searing

Michael you really are opening up the vault huh? Do you have any Szamboti's too? Great cue, good luck!
