Hey guy's I recently purchased a Dennis Dieckman 3-Cushion cue. I have no idea what Dennis Dieckmans cue are worth. Can some one give me an approximate value for this cue!
The cue is perfectly straight, as are the shafts, it is used however, it is in very good condition.

That is probably in between 2 & 3 G nowadays. His cues have went up since his induction into the ICA Hall of Fame...also he is one of 11 people that have a cue in the Smithsonian Museum. Not on display yet but, they are planning to someday make a exhibit for pool...There is no hype about a Dieckman cue, he is the real deal not just a bunch of cheap advertisments...

I would try and hold onto that cue, they are going to get higher in price...

The book has one similar to it.
Says its worth $2350

They start at $1750

$100 for each shaft over two

Hope this helps.

Dieckman charges $300 for a shaft. He won't sell you until it's aged in his shop for 15 years...

If it says $2350 in the blue book then it is worth $3500 today, the book is a little out dated in the Dieckman section. I was taking a guess at what we would sell it for today if you wanted another one...

We only have 5 cue's left that are under $2000.

I just made a appointement with Dieckman for later tonight, I will try and talk him into looking at this thread. Then he can tell us exactly what it's worth. Probably take him till next wedsday to get his post up..

Thanks very much, like I said I plan on keeping the cue, I have a 3-Cushion table in my pool room, and I am going to use this cue as my personal player. I hit a few balls with it earlier and the thing really has a fantastic hit with any of the shafts that came with the cue.

Thanks for your time, and it would be great to hear what Dennis has to say about the cue.

Thanks Craig

Saw that!

I watched that one on the bay also. I was shocked at the closing price but am glad that you got it! Great buy Craig!!!

Thanks Dan I wasn't surprised, however, I had no idea what his cues sold for. Like I said above I plan to make the cue my player for 3-Cushion, and it certainly appears I got a great deal. So, I suppose there are still some good deals on eBay!!:)

Craig, Lowend that cue should of sold for $1200.00 and Highend $2300.00.
But if you add into the fact it was in Walt Harris collection, also early Dieckman and all three shafts have inlay [ those should cost $600.00 ea. for a total of $1800.00, then figure $1000.00 for the Butt you at $2800 and now a HOF cuemaker add another $1000.00. Now you Up To $3800.00.

Dieckman once told me he charge $250 standard cue, then $50 per inlay or $100 an hour, estimated the time it took to build the cue. Sample a cue that took 20 hours would cost $2000 or if the cue have 50 inlays 50 x50 = 2500 + 250 = $2750. And that was back in 1990. The original buyer [if he like you] price in 1990 would been between $550 to $750. 1990 Retail [ the a$$h*** Buyer] price $1250 to $1800

Check out his cue archives. click this link -possible your cue. http://www.cuemaker.com/gallery16.htm

Also I have 28 different Dieckman cue postcards / photos I might look at

Dieckman Cue

Wow.

Heck of a price from the sounds of it.

He has some cues on his website posted for sale.
You should ask him for some prices on these to compare.

I contacted Dennis a couple of hour's ago by email which he answered very quickly, He said I was just luck because he only checks his email once a week, and then I called him on the phone. He actually remembered the cue down to the woods used in it, and also remembered who the cue was made for. In the morning I am sending Dennis a check because he is making me a set of joint protectors that will match the cue, including the inlays in the shafts. Dennis was a pleasure to talk with and all my questions have been answered. I appreciate the time everyone took to post to this thread, and try to help me with the information I requested.

For future posters, the cue is not for sale, it has become my personal player for 3-Cushion Billiards. For those who don't know I own a pool room, and around six months ago I added a 3-Cushion Table so while this cue is collectible, I think the biggest compliment to any cue is wanting to use, and this cue really hits great.

Thanks Again Craig

Final word - Would be. Welcome to the Dieckman Family. If you read The Inside Pool article about Dieckman and his cues you would understand. April 2007 issue of Inside Pool.

Congratulations Craig

I'm glad I didn't bid against you. That was one of the auctions I was watching closely. You did really well.

I expect you have the link to Dieckman's website. Your cue is photographed in gallery #13. It is rare to find inlay work in his shafts. Enjoy it. Welcome to the family.

I have been told that the inlay work in the shafts is not common. Yesterday, I called Dennis about a matching pair of joint protectors, with the same inlays as the shafts, since I am using the cue as my new player, I figured what the hell.

I have playing with the cue since I received it, and it is a very good play. I can apply maximum spin to the ball with much less force than with any other 3-Cushion cue I have ever owned.

Thanks for not Bidding:D and thanks very much for your post.

Take care Craig

instead of making a new thread..
