Hello all,
I have an early Pre-Cat" 314 shaft, for a 3/8-10 pin, measuring 12mm, with LePro medium or hard tip.
Many consider these shafts, made by Falcon Cues, the best to ever bear the name Predator, and I'm not one to disagree with this accessment.
The shaft rolls straight on its own, but when assembled on a McDermott butt, there is a minor lift of the tip.
This means that the joint needs to be "re-faced" by a cue repairman.
From what I understand, the procedure is relatively inexpensive; similar to having a tip installed. Around $15.00. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
I planned on taking the shaft to this year's Super Billiards Expo to have it re-faced, and then I was going to put it up for sale, for $125.00 to $150.00.
This shaft has a hariline crack at the collar (see pics; link below), and it has been repaired. It is
tight and sealed, and thus, a non-issue. It has absolutely no effect on playability, and is merely an aesthetic detail worth mentioning.
The shaft is very smooth and free of any nicks or dings. There is some minor finish imperfection at the collar, as seen by pics in the link that follows.
I tried this shaft and it hits extremely well. One could play with it as is, or have the shaft re-faced. I'm not sure it re-facing it makes any improvement in its play? As I've stated, when the shaft is rolled on a table by itself, it rolls perfectly straight.
If you're looking for an early Predator, "Pre-Cat" 314, it can be yours for only SOLD--Pending Payment. This includes shipping, and as I'm feeling generous, I'll include a brand new Tiger Sniper tip, a $14.00 value. Please PM me for details.
Here are some pics of this shaft:

This is likely the best deal ever offered on AZ for a Pre-Cat, Predator 314 shaft!
Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Glen (strum4u)
