common scenario

This is how it will probably pan out. As someone who has had people owe me money for most of my adult life it is almost always the same with a few variations. It always starts out with things looking great, they don't haggle about anything they have the rent security and deposit in full and start out looking like 100%. When they go bad it starts out with the money being late. You ask about it and they are almost dismissive about it like it is nothing and will get it too you right away.

You don't hear from them and finally have to again ask. The next step is the excuse and deflection of responsibility. They are waiting for a check, or someone to pay them, or money from a sale of something, either way there is nothing they can do till this takes place but not to worry. Time goes by and no money, you have to ask again. Their next ploy is to become a victim and attempt to aline themselves with you, like both of you are getting screwed.

"Can you believe I didn't get paid for that job", or "I got fired and they still haven't given me my last check". They act mad and they are going to get to the bottom of this and they will get me my money. Now they are trying to act like it isn't even their fault they can't pay me. The final act is, they admit they can't pay and that is usually that or they just disappear, they may still own me money or I have enough deposit to not lose but it's always the same BS, they are never on the level with you.

What I think is going to happen next with the IPT is this, at some point they will say the deal with Mr. Ho is not going through but they will be paying the players but they will still have to wait. They will say something like the IPT has exceeded the money they had set aside and it has run out of available funds due to unforeseen circumstances. They need to secure additional funds, but they can't just commingle money from the Natural Cures company due to, (insert your own legal mumbo jumbo, it will make about as much sense).

They will act like the pool players are to stupid to understand such high finance and will basically talk down to them stalling some more. They will also play the victim game like they got screwed around by Mr. Ho and it is not their fault. More time will go by and it will become apparent they just aren't paying, at that point they will have already folded the company and the players will just be left to do what they they can. I am only saying this because this all seems to be following such a common scenario. Hope for the best but expect the worst I am afraid.

You seem to know one of my brothers-in-law. Of course his last trick was to declare personal bankruptcy and was satisfied that I got $0.05 on the dollar .... I'm not

Ouch, family debts should never be included in a bankruptcy. What a slime.

Unbelievable! Your family included money owed to you in a bankruptcy? I could never imagine doing such a thing..

Thanksgiving should be fun :)
