Buyers beware!!

I bought http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=400262 from the seller. Per Vinny's(TattooedKingPin) post that the cue is in like new condition and the shaft is completely straight. I bought(he requested that I send payment as gift) the cue last Thursday 8/20, I got the cue on Monday 8/24. As soon as I opened the tube I could feel that the rings were popped at the joint and the butt. The leather wrap was very poorly put on(gap at the butt end). Then I rolled the shaft and it has a huge tapper roll and when I rolled the butt it had about 5 credit cards off lift. At 1st I thought the lift was from the wrap but after I checked it some more it was not the wrap just the butt was wrapped. I sent him(Vinny) a email because AZB was down and at 1st he told me he would refund me after he got his cue back. Then he sends me a email stating that he had talked it over with his friends and he had good pictures on the post and he wasn't going to refund me and he knows that this wasn't going to end well for him, he also said that he had his local guy check out the cue and it was fine. 1st you can't see tapper roll in pictures or see a wrapped butt in pictures. I took the cue today 8/25 to my local builder/repair man and he confirmed that the cue is wrapped and the shaft has a lot of tapper roll(4mm). He wrote a letter to the fact! This guy is very shady he knows that he sent me a junk cue that's why he wanted me to pay as a gift and because I sent the funds as a gift that Paypal will not force him to give the money back. He keep saying that I had buyers remorse or found something that I like better or money problems, everyone on here that knows me knows I don't have money problems and I never have buyers remorse. If I don't like something I will resell or put it in my storage cases. But I'm an honest seller and I can't use or resell junk! He tried to say I had money problems because I told him my wife would only let me spend 500(that's because I wanted a cheaper cue to take to some of the bars around here). In closing don't trust this guy and if you do don't send as a gift! I'm lucky that I made sure in my Paypal I said what it was for so I can dispute it with my Credit card company!
 
Very compelling story Brian! Completely untrue, but very entertaining piece of fiction. Brian chooses to leave out many details of this transaction, such as I answered every one of his questions, kept him informed all the way, and gave him exact specs. He leaves out the name calling and his rudeness, his case of buyers remorse. He was very skiddish from the beginning about the whole transaction and the money his wife would let him spend that is why I suggested it be sent as a gift because I lowered the price already for him. The cue was as stated and I even lowered the price because he explained his financial limitations. It was definitely a learning lesson for me about how some people will try to not honor an agreement and Brian, I can get a letter from my dealer saying the contrary. You know what really happened. Basically, Brian tried playing me and got mad when it didn't work. Sorry, better luck next time Brian. Feel free to keep spinning the wheel Brian

You are so full of crap! I called you a Jagoff because you were acting like one! I never asked you if the cue was wrapped or if the shaft was straight because you said in your listing the cue was like new and the shaft was very straight. Both lies! I said in my opening that my wife told me to spend 500 because I wanted a bar cue that I wouldn't be worried about taking it to some bars that it might get stolen. How did I try to play you when I would still be out shipping from sending it back to you. If the cue would have been as described I would have never had a problem and you would have never heard from me. So you need to stop telling lies YOU SOLD ME A POS AND YOU KNEW IT WAS A POS BEFORE YOU SENT IT!!! I have bought well over 100 cues from people on AZB and have never had a problem before now and I have never had financial problems especially with a 500$ cue!!
 
Brian just stop it and grow up. No one cares how many cues or transactions you did in the past Brian. You tried to break our agreement and you got mad I didn't go along it, that is why I told you it would end badly. I could see exactly what you were trying to do. Now it's time to move on and stop harassing me because I'm done with you, the name calling, rudeness and this whole nightmare of a transaction.

Bottom line Vinny is you are a Liar and a Theif!! I don't break my word! I was very excited to get a new cue and then I got that POS. I'm glad I believe in Karma because one day you going to get what you deserve!
 
If it's in 99.9% condition like the for sale post states, why not just accept the return and sell it again? (Buyer should pay return postage). For the price you were asking it shouldn't last long. It looks like a nice cue.

I had it boxed back up going to send it back and he told me he wasn't going to take it back! I was going to pay for the shipping back to him.

The fact that the seller states he bought the cue for $800 a few months ago
and offered it to you for $530 should have been a big red flag. That is a big loss
to take unless you know there is something wrong with cue and you are just
trying to unload it. I think you are just wasting your time trying to argue some
sense into him. If the guy really thought the cue was as nice as he portrayed
it to be he would have accepted a return and given you a refund. I know it is
too late now but I only do business with sellers who will offer a refund (less
shipping) within a reasonable amount of time for any reason. If sellers are
offering something of quality they should have no reason not to guarantee
your happiness with the purchase. Credit Card dispute / Paypal reversal
is probably going to be your best bet. Paypal isn't going to defend the
seller and as soon as your credit card company charges back the purchase
the sellers account will follow. Good luck.

Did you send him a cue that has issues?
In all your answers you've not mentioned the cue, just his lack of class?
Maybe he's upset for buying firewood from you when he was expecting a cue!!
If the cue has that bad of a roll, you either knew it or never checked, Either way
,the guy is willing to pay to ship it back.
When you get the cue back, make a video of how the cue rolls. If its straight then
we know who never to do business with. Your rep on this forum could be back
on track if you truly believe the cue was fine and can prove it.

I couldn't have said it better! I'll take a video so everyone can see the junk he's calling 99.99%! When I took it to Dave Richards(cue builder) he couldn't believe what this guy was calling like new condition. I let him see the emails he sent me and he said looks like you're dealing with a lying Douche Bag!

You sold a Cue. He isn't happy and wants to return it.
End of story.


Anything else you think you need to say is just hot air. Refund his money and get the Cue back. You can spin that.

How is someone that is simply trying to return a cue for a refund trying to play you? What would he have to gain from that, and what would you be out? The answer here is simply. He doesn't like what you sent him, and feels it is less than what was advertised. Refund the guy his money in exchange for you cue, especially if he is willing to pay the return postage. Problem solved!! This is what any decent businessman would do.

This is the kind of lies he tells PayPal. His listing never said as is. It said like new 99.9%. I sent the cue to Robert Harris to be checked over
because I didn't want to use my local guy so no one could say he was just my friend. When I get back his detailed summary I will pot it as well!
