I feel this is one of Dr Dave's best works (and Bob Jewett). "VEEB" (Video Encyclopedia of 8-ball) is a 5 DVD set that is a VERY comprehensive collection of all aspects/skills needed to play your best 8-ball (plus the info can be applicable for all pool games).

I have all of Dave's DVD series and they are all excellent, but because I am not a 'detail' or 'science' guy, I found this series to be one of my favorites, if not, my favorite. Throughout the DVD's Dr. Dave points the viewer to the appropriate resource page for more information on a specific technique or system if more info is needed, so each DVD is pure knowledge-based of the many options and best choices to play the game. It reminds me of how Grady makes his DVDs, packed full of great info w/o discussing the basics over and over. I cannot believe how much information is provided in every chapter, and so clearly laid out and discussed, too.

Bob Jewett is one of the best at executing a shot where the cue ball is very close to an object ball and must be hit straight on without fouling. There are several views of Bob executing such a shot that you should not overlook, I urge you to study his technique when you run across this shot (it's not discussed, just a shot in the sequence). If you can master this it's worth the price of the DVD alone!

My last thought is regarding the final DVD (V) that is dedicated on sample run outs; although Dr. Dave has really improved his game over the years we've known each other, he is not a pro, so don't expect pro style run outs (although the thinking/planning/teaching is top notch). I found this to be an excellent representation of how we (the every man/woman) may get through a rack of 8-ball, which was really very helpful and refreshing.

I thank Dr. Dave and Bob Jewett for all they contribute to our sport. They are both a tremendous resource to us and continue to provide excellent instruction that is always of the highest quality.

I highly recommend this DVD set for anyone, whether you play 8-ball or not, there is much to learn for all games.

Thanks!
Dave

Thanks Dave!

That means a lot to me, because, like me, I know you can be very "honest" if something is not up to an expected high standard.

Thanks again,
Dave
