This is an exceptionally nice wrapless merrywidow cue made by Dave Jones. He's listed in the Blue Book of Pool Cues; and, a popular cue builder here in the Northwest!

It features a highly figured Cocobolo butt sleeve and forearm with a sweet Thuya Burl handle; fancy Ebony and Thuya Burl ringwork with 6 small Ivory Diamond inlays at C, D and E.

No Dean, Dave was born and raised here in the Shoreline, WA area.....just north of Seattle.

You can find him in the Blue Book of Cues 3rd Edition, Pages 54 and 389-390.....he plays pretty good too ;)

How does this cue play? I've played predator with 314-3s, McDermot GCores, and OB+. I think this is a gorgeous cue, but I don't know anything about custom cues.

Would it make sense to put an LD on this?

Sorry for all the questions. I've never really considered anything other than a production cue.

I'm probably a little skewed.....but, IMHO, I think it will play better than any of those cues you've mentioned :)

It's a custom build; so, it's unique in the construction and woods being used. This cue is cored with a solid pie laminated maple dowel; the forearm and buttsleeve are Cocobolo; the handle is Thuya Burl; it has a SS radial pin which combined produces a distinct feel and hit.

We can have 314-3 shaft built to match the cue if that's your preference....it just depends on your budget

I knew David Jones in the mid to late 90s. He was into Chevrolet racing & he was very good at it. I'm sure his craftsmanship has made the shift, because a craftsman can do anything he set's his mind to. David was very good at what he did. I would love to see some of his Cue work...
