Cat's like blue chalk?!

My cat, Fidel, just licked the chalk off of a shaft I had sitting on my bed. Anyone see anything like this with their cat? I'm going to put another shaft out for him.. poor hungry cat.


Maybe he has a lead deficiency..:p

No but he does love cigarette smoke. I used to smoke in the house and he'd stick his nose into plumes of smoke and sniff away. Now when I smoke outside and come in with the butt he waits for me and sniffs at the smell coming from the butts. He loves all types of butts.. including his own. :)
 
Maybe I should bring him to the poolroom and see if he cleans the tables better than Chalk Off..

In an ironic twist lead is sweet to the palate, and that is one reason that children ate it! As you know little kids pick up anything and into the mouth it goes and the sweetness of lead was just like candy to them.
This is no hijack attempt just some info!!!

Dan is correct. I have read that pool chalk does have lead in it. Not good for anyone to ingest.

I did not say the chalk had lead in it, although the older pre 1970 stuff probably did. I was just commenting on lead itself and why it was consumed by kids years ago. OF course this is serious stuff lead is a very toxic product for young people to ingest. Given the toy recalls recently you know the stuff is quite dangerous especially to children.

I have woke up a few different times to my cat rolling a piece of blue chalk around on the hardwood floors. I guess she grabs them off the dresser when I come home and empty my pockets. One time she even had it all over her face. Lol
