Hi,

This two old beauty's are for sale. The cues rolls straight and they are in a really good condition.

The wood in the middle of this double spliced rarity changes the color if you tilt the cue.
(I can make a video of this effect if someone is interested)

I am gonna expose my ignorance here. What exactly are they?

I am a fan of the wedge thing I just do not know alot about old cues.

Just curious.

In this thread one guy said its a Brunswick.
But could also be from France (I have seen some similar pictures in the Billiard Encyclopedia)

I think they are more then 80 years old.

According to the Billiard Encyclopedia, the wedge served the player by making it possible to play with either end of the cue. I'm imagining sliding the cue forward like a shuffleboard stick. It would come in really handy for short shots instead of the bridge I think, if it didn't cause miscues. Brunswick made them in many different configurations, some butterfly splices, some ivory jointed, some not. I WANT ONE  ...Tom

You might also try PM'ing username: Solartje. He seems to have researched these cues quite a bit. I'm nominating him for the unofficial AZ foreign antique cue expert position.
