Guess I'm kinda slow, but I figured out why they call it a 314 shaft. It hit me about a month ago, the shaft is cut into 'pie' pieces and the number for pi is 3.14......Did everyone know this already, or am I really that slow? I guess I never really gave it much thought. Just thought I'd share.

How bout Z shaft? did Zorro made it? :D

Hey that is right up there with, What color is the 16 ball? or why is the 8-Ball black? Nice tidbit of information, thanks.

Hint - and a true story. Two guys are talking and one points out that the One ball is yellow, the 9-Ball is yellow and white. He then points out that all the balls are complimentary and you can tell the opposing color ball number by adding 8 to the primary color. "Oh yeah," says my buddy, "So what color is the green ball?"

Thanks Matt for the info. As Johnny Carson use to say "I did not know that".

The 5280 is made in Denver, the mile high city (5280 feet in a mile). Hope you were being serious with that question so I'm not making a fool out of myself.

 Not Made in, But distributed out of Denver where CueStix international is located.;)

5280

When I first heard of them and saw Corey endorsing those line of cues, I thought that 5280 was his birthday. May 5th 1980. Not a bad guess, but still wrong. LOL.

Actually, no, the 5280 series was never made in Denver. While it was being produced (no longer), it was manufactured in China, along with all of Cuestix other lines of cues (Scorpion, Action, Elite, etc). Cuestix is headquartered in Boulder, CO, which also happens to be at 5280 feet.

Someone mentioned the question "why is the 8 ball black". I don't know. However, anyone ever notice that the 1, 2, and 3 balls are the 3 primary colors, and the 4, 5, and 6 balls are the 3 secondary colors (you get purple our of red and blue, orange out of red and yellow, etc.) The 7 ball is a tertiary color-but I don't know how you get that one.

Kinda interesting, I thought.

I got one... when you look at a ZIP Code map, the numbers generally progress from the east to the west.

When you look at an area code map, there doesn't seem to be a pattern at all... why not?

Telephone use expanded exponentially, the country is still the same size......

W vs K

WIth rare exceptions, why do radio stations east of the Miss. river start with a "W" and stations west of the Miss. river start with a "K"?

KW is the abbreviation for Kilowatt... a unit of energy... the one used when describing how powerful of a signal a radio station is broadcasting at... so, when you look at the map of the US... "K" is to the left... and "W" is to the right.

And... if this isn't the correct answer... it's a damned good made-up one... :D :D :D

While that may be true, it's not the reason. I'll post that in a little while. :)
