This weekend at the J. Pechaur tour at Side Pockets in Marietta, GA there were at most five people in the room willing to bet that water was wet.
I saw one player that wanted to match up, but he was flat bust and there wouldn't have been another player in the room that would have matched up with him fairly if he could have gotten it.
I made side bets with Gene who owns a poolroom in Villa Rica, GA and showed some gamble and another gentleman from his room.
AZBs own Southpaw offered to match up with me, but we could not make a fair game. He didn't know my speed so I can't fault him for not wanting to offer me the weight I would need. I even offered a game I thought might have been fair and told him if he didn't believe so, he didn't have to pay me. To his great credit he refused to play any game and not pay up.
Mike Janis laid me odds for one sweat bet as well.
There were three champions in the room and none will bet a dime. One of the Southeast's premier gamblers was in attendance and I couldn't even get a bet on a coinflip. I am known as a pretty good lines maker, but my win percent for the year is only 69%. This is pretty good, but consider that a backer betting even money on every set must win at least 67% of the time just to break even if they are splitting evenly.
Thanks to all those who showed me some action or at least tried.
What is wrong with players now?
