I have received the Cues for the AZ Cue Buildoff. I am currently in Syracuse.
I will have them for a week, then hand deliver it to a9ballbr8k in Rochester.

I plan to make them available for other AZ-ers to use, as well as other local players. I have a scoring/comment sheet to keep track of the cue ratings.
Here is my schedule:

Thursday 6/10: Caps Cue Club, Syracuse
8:30pm - ..?

Friday 6/11: Salt City Billiards, Mattydale
9pm - ..?

Saturday 6/12: Hippos House of Billiards, Utica
6pm - 9pm

Because of the short notice, I will be at Caps again next Thursday 6/17 , and Salt City on Wednesday 6/16.

Hope to see you there.

I can make it to Amsterdam for Main St, or Albany/Latham for Golden Cue/ Diamond Eight, this weekend only, but not sure if there are any AZ-ers there who would like to try them. If you are in the capital district of NY and know people who would like to try out these cues, let me know ASAP.

if no one knows who I am, they'll easily recognize me with the missile launcher case

would anyone else in upstate NY like to give these a try? or even the capital district area of NY?

these cues will be sent back to ftgokie after I'm done with them...

Hey hellfish,

Any idea if the cues are going to wind up at Classic Billiards in Rochester?

Hey Lyn

I was initially planning on driving to Classic Billiards in Rochester to drop them off to the next person in the list. But he recently informed me that he is unable to participate. I can still drop it off in Rochester if you would like to take over for the next person in line, contact ftgokie for more details.

if anyone in upstate NY in the CNY area would like to try these out, send me a PM tonight. I will drive them off to rochester this weekend.

Thanks HeLLFiSH. Be sure to post as much feedback as you can about each cue. And if people that have tried them out with you are on here, see if they can give us some feedback as well.

The next buildoff will be much different. They will be more expensive cues with inlays. I will be the only one that has the cues, but will go round to major tournaments to let people try them out. It will be broadcast live and recorded for everyone to see. This was pretty much a test bed and I really enjoyed it, but it will be better next time. I will try and hit all 4 corners of the US and if there is no Ivory in the cues, I will take them with me to Europe and let our pool playing brothers over there try them out as well.

Cues were delivered to Rob in Rochester. I will post results once rob and his people get a chance to try it out, not to influence their results

How about an update, guys, it's been quite awhile.

a9ballbr8k has the cues right now, he should be posting his updates soon, he had some family issues and couldnt test the cues out for a cpl weeks. The cues should be coming to me at the latest, 07/23/10

Is there any chance that these cues will make it to the Memphis area in their journey?

I was just wondering how much longer till everything will be posted as being who made these cue's that were tested and the over all opinions ? It kinda died out here for a while so I was just curious <,ED

Cues are coming back to me next week. It has been about a year of traveling across the USA for these cues. The cues will not be going back out after they get back to me.

I will be doing another buildoff but with higher end cues, and that buildoff will be different. I will personally take the cues to some major tournaments to let people try them out. Not sure of which tournaments I will hit, but will try and get east and west coast, and 4-5 places in between. I may even take them to Europe with me to let out European friends try them out. Its all still in the works

I am not sure if you got them back yet Shawn, but a majority of the old school players in Syracuse preferred cue #2. The runner ups were 7 (the sneaky), and then 4/5. They liked the way it hit, and the response from the cue ball. They set up independent tests for each player, that way each player would write down what they think, and only discuss once all players have tried them. They would try specific shots that they're use to, and know how each shot would end up, its based on how they'd normally play, and grade it on that.

They all like cue 2 the most, half like 7 and the other like 4 and 5. The people that liked 4/5 noticed a roll in 7, maybe that was the cause. Ironically, they've never heard of B&D and neither have I. Additional comments are: the finish on cue 3 began to chip off, and the linen on Cue 4 wasnt pressed like cue 2.
