To all one pocket players and interested spectators. We here in Dallas put together IMO the best player's room on the planet. We have 8 Diamond 9ft. smart tables, and 1 Diamond 7ft. smart table. Every table has more than ample space from the next table, assuring the players all the comfort and enjoyment they would expect to find in a players room for players only.
We would like to host an open one pocket tournament with an entry fee of $1,000, open to any one that would like to play. We will add $5,000 to the purse. This should attract the best players in this part of the country, plus maybe players in other areas. The action will be non stop. I will give you my personal guarantee that if you bring your backers here to Dallas, we will have the biggest jamboree since Johnston City.

Will there be room for spectators when this all comes together? Some of us don't have the game for this type of action, but would definitely like to show up for the event and see some of the match-ups.

I would like to know the race and hope that it will be primarily on the weekend or at least most of the final play. Thinking about this, though, I can't imagine there being much room left for sweaters, what with the players bringing their stakehorses, road girls and their backup.

Not to stick my nose too far into this but I would imagine some "others" might include Eddie Brown, C Bryant, D Harriman, J Henderson and some of the other west coast boys. Yang would add another dimension to the environment although I don't know if he can spell one pocket. He might be good for the extra curricular activity. That's an idea. You might advertise it as a one pocket tournament and promote it that way but open the door WIDE for some 9 rocket, 10 ball, banks etc and whatever. It seems that the ring game thing is still popular although a blemishes but that can be buffed up and corrected.

It could be lots of fun. Let's see........ one bag of sand. What's that? Not really a lot these days.

We probably got another hurricane coming and if its like Katrina well, just give me the check and I'm heading inland.

I'm thinking of making the entry fee $1,000 with a single elimination format,but any player that loses in round 1 can buy back in for $500. Then any player that loses in round 2 can buy back in for $1,000, and then finally any player that loses in the third round can buy back in (for the last time) for $1,500. So this will certainly be more than one bag.Plus you will find out who really is the best one pocket player in the country today.

Hey Billy,

Please be aware of the Qlympics events that is happening in Louisville from November 1- 18. Please try to not conflict with these dates.

US Open events are One Pocket, 14.1 Straight pool (150 points), Full Rack Banks, and 10 Ball.

This is the first annual on this event and we are hoping it will GROW. There are amatuer events on the weekends (SIngles, Teams, Scotch Doubles, and Juniors).

This will definitely be interesting not to mention bring in a very nice payout. What have you considered for the races? I like a race to 4 but considering the amount of time this would take depending on the amount of players a race to 3 might be best.

I love what Greg,you,and the staff have done with the DCC,and I have always respected Gregg Sullivan, especially for his genuine love for the game and the players that play this wonderfull game.And your request in reminding me not to schedule my event coinciding with the Olympics event is very much appreciated and understood. Considering the success the DCC has I expect the Olympics to get off strongly. If I had a new TV show I wouldn't want to be on the same time slot as The Sopranos.
