This has probably been done more the once here but I'm pretty new so please forgive.Been reading for a while and have not seen it.

Besides...the Silver_Wombat user name story made me cry.
I mean really...playing online pool...think of it..think its funny as shyatt..use it....tell others about the indepth process about deciding on it.
Wow...just wow.

OK ..back to reality. Some are pretty clever and some I have no idea what the hell the the meaning is supposed to be...

How'd you pick it and why?

My name on her eis Russ Chewning.. But everywhere else on the web, it's "Pogue".

I'm ex military. I was a computer guy.

Military term for a job title that never sees any combat = Pogue.

As a computer guy, I never had a chance to see combat, therefore, I am a "pogue".

I sometimes sign my posts as Pogue.

not much of a story but...

I named my first cue, Cuebacca The Woodcue after Chewbacca The Wookie. The cue is an Orchid, which I've still never heard of besides the fact that I have one. LOL. I chose my screenname in its honor.

I went to the University of Washington where I was the best player there. I have been out for a few years so I need to change my handle I guess. And the '1'...well I chose UWPoolGod first but forgot the password and could not get a password change email. So I started a new handle and added the 1.

Scaramouche - The title and central character of an Italian novel

He was born with the gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad:D

I grew up in a town that was a river city. Always thought it would be funny to have it as a nickname.

Well it started a long time ago. My parents named me Rod. Not exactly true, they named me Rodney but I prefer the short version.

Back in my mid 20's, I was suppose to marry a girlfriend of mine until one day she freaked out, went psycho, dumped me and all out of the blue. After that, I became easy to hate (ez2h8) by many people that were not close friends of mine or realized what happened.

Now people say I am easy to like but it doesn't have that ring to it. lol

My niece saw a picture of me of when I was in Vietnam. She had just seen the movie, Rambo, First Blood and started calling me Rambo. Then the rest of the family did. I added the SKY to the end since it's the last three letters of my real name.

The "Grunt", is an Army Infantry thing, like Jarhead is to the Marines.

"PoolBum" is short for "pool room bum" which is what Sarah called Fast Eddie in The Hustler.

Nothing too fancy. Just am usually wearing a suit and tie and back in the day some people started calling me big business in liife and on the table. Used to be called tinman. I have alot of heart on the table, I have been told, so it was a play on the opposite of the tinman from wizard of oz with no heart.

My nick is very unimaginative, the first letter of my first name and my last name. I'm boring, sheesh... :o I got a nickname "buddy" a few years ago, but registered here before that...

I'm in Heilongjiang. A state in China. 'Hei long' means black dragon. Jiang is river. I like black and like the power of a dragon so it seemed ok to me. So I live where the black dragons are by the river..

Mine is pretty straightforward. My pool nickname is "The Professor", and I'm from the Virgin Islands. In addition, I wanted to make sure there was no confusion, since Grady Matthews is the original "Professor". Lastly, it did occur to me that VIP are the first three letters in the name.:D
