Cue Lathe Tool Post Finished and Ready for sale!

toolpost.jpg

All Units are gone, Not sure if there will be another run of posts after these are gone.

Each tool post runs $120.00 USD + Shipping and is a bolt-on ready to use unit with two basic tool holders to fit the post. The unit is 1018 steel and the holders are black anodized aluminum. Maximum suggested tool size for the holders is 3/8" but will hold a 1/2" cutter. The post is much heavier built compared to the A2Z toolpost. Twisting will not be an issue with this unit as well.

This Quick Change Tool Post fits:
All Hightower Cue lathes
Todd Shultz Cue Lathe
Bassels Custom cue lathes
Brianna Cue lathe
Taig Lathe and clones

Additional Tool holders - $12.00 each
Optional Adjustable locking handle - $10.00 Each

I am out of Cut off Blade Holders and Boring bar holders.

USPS Priority Shipping $10.00(US Customers)
USPS Priority Int' Shipping $40.00(Canadian Customers)
USPS First Class Int' $25.00(Canadian Customers)

Might be a dumb question, but is there another lever you can attach to the thru bolt/nut for easy removal and adjustment of the tool post? Or is it a wrench or allen wrench tighten and loosen like the other quick change posts. Just wondering, I tend to rotate and/or remove my quick change tool posts quite a bit. Looks great though!

That is an option I sell if requested.

Is the locking handle removable?

I'd like one. Have to figure how many tool holders I want and will PM you.
Thanks.

Got my tool post today, mind blower !

I am so impressed! It exceeds my expectations. Very well done. I wondered if I really needed it, I had custom milled my Hightower tool posts, even for the cutoff blade, and all worked well. But: WOW ! I know now I was settling for less. I think anyone with a Hightower Deluxe needs to own a set of your toolpost and holders, they are fantastic. I have seen the aluminum QR posts and was not so impressed. This set reminds me of the Aloris style on my 12X36 lathes . . . rock solid! Maybe even a little overkill, but call me anal, I like overkill!!! Thank You man, it was worth the wait!
OH, and bad news, I have no more gun drills, I know you wanted one, and I expected to have some more, but it fell through. Sorry. I will keep my eyes open for one though, and message you if I can get one. I actually had one less than I figured, I forgot I needed one for me too!

Sincerely: Lou.

I would love some pics of it mounted on your machine :p

Pics soon?

I will take pics as soon as I am released from the hospital. I went in to the ER early yesterday morning. Feel fine today, but who am I to say? They are poking prodding, and sticking me. I may be here a few days more?
BUT seriously, nice tool post ! LOU.

promised pics

Here are some quick snapshots of the tool post with the regular tool holder, the cutoff blade holder, and the boring bar holder. Very well made addition for the Hightower Deluxe lathe.
That sweet boring bar was purchased from Neil of New Zealand. One nice tool as well !

OK so I've yet to pull the trigger on a QCP because I'm constantly completely removing my entire tool post for other operations. Is it really a big time savings to use one of these? Not trying to be sarcastic. This is the nicest one I've seen, just trying to justify it.

No more shimming the little gold post for different tools. Once its set up, changing tools only takes seconds.

I will be mailing out another base to all customers who have ordered my post. There were a couple dud bases that were not completely flat and were not allowing the post to clamp down properly. I am personally machining some better ones today and I will send those out First Class Tomorrow.

Thanks

Mine seems to be too short? Did you run a couple different sizes?

Also short a couple holders.......

Contacted you...I believe your lathe doesn't have the second cross slide on your carriage? If this is the case, your unit will be to short and I will have to make a custom thicker base to rise it up. I have seen some people with the single cross slide on their Hightower and used a big spacer to raise their A2Z post up.

> How big of a deal would it be to make this fit the 7x mini lathe instead of just the Taig? The Enco I have sure would like one :). Tommy D.
