With no visible latch, catch, pockets or handle and a not so visible hinge/pin, it may be easiest to refer to this style of case as “the naked” cue case.

This all started with a major pick-up of material thru a habitat for humanity auction that Dassault Falcon Jet contributed too. All of this material is of a high quality selection. The objective was to create a light weight, clean looking “naked” and comfortable case that was able stowed the cue while showing it in case resting on its own wall brackets. Then with ease either retrieve the cue to shoot or close case and go off to the next match. With many different veneers in color and pattern and not wanting to cover the interior with fabric the cue parts are secured and suspended in individual spring loaded socket’s and rest. Fitting the case for particular cues is necessary for the best use. The rest is adjustable with the sockets being interchangeable for a good fit.
The top one is Koa with a Birdseye maple interior, only enough Koa material for 3 possibly 4 cases.
Middle is all Birdseye, have a lot of this material.
Bottom is of an unknown burl; it matches up with what is called aferzia, and interior is Birdseye maple. There are a lot of burls in these medium tones.
The koa could be cocobolo; I think it is to dark for cocobolo though.
The finish is a conversion varnish.
Been working on this for awhile with good results now, it takes better of a couple weeks to make one with the price starting at $350.00. The price difference will be in the more unique/rare and limited material availability; however the bulk of the cases will be priced at $350 +freight, wall brackets included.
Thank You for viewing and opinions.
