Yes, they all got paid eventually, from what was reported here.
However, there were some other people/companies in support positions (not players) that were stiffed, as also reported here.
I know a couple of players told me they were getting checks sporadically up thru 2010-11. Don't know if they got all they were owed. I guess when the guy's paying you back out of prison cigarette $$ it could take a while.I'm not sure, but I seem to recall a few players who were stiffed, I also believe that some "settlements" were made to the players, and that many "qualifier" payments made in advance by the hopefuls were not refunded when the tournaments were cancelled.
It wasn't pretty, but was predictable.

After the Fed's auctioned-off his house and liquidated all of GIN networks assets he's pretty well busted. I just he hope he's the "popular" pretty boy at whatever ClubFed he's at. This douchebag is truly lower than whale s^*t.I wouldn't worry too much about KT having to live off of cigarette money, ever. I'd bet that he stashed away quite a bit before he surrendered.

You are the fist person i've ever heard even try to defend this guy. Calling it a "tour" is a MAJOR stretch. There were TWO full-field events before this "tour" morphed into a handful of challenge matches. I know six people that played in either the first or both events. To this day not all players have been paid. As far as a tour goes, the PBT(then CamelPBT) was FAR more successful and longer lived.he still paid out more money than anybody else pretty much in the history of pool
while organizing the greatest pro tour the game has ever seen
hey you wanna buy a cancer cure for $20, it's all him right and not you?
lol

No doubt. Pool is always looking for its Messiah and 'ol KT was just the guy. Or so we thought. No he's not. When I brought my concerns about KT up in the beginning 80% of the crowd yelled me down. To me based on his history and the unsustainability of the prizes it could only end one way. People saw the potential dollar signs and ignored the obvious.

Here we go. He still paid. BS! He stiffed dozens of hard working smaller vendors. Lighting, events catering, movers, all types of vendors. It matters. How he got his funds...it matters. What promises he made...it matters.
Drug dealers don't get a hall pass because they are good tippers at the barber.
As far as I know he did not pay Efren the full $500K he won against Rodney. His manager Rolando suggested that they sue but Efren said "no." He eventually got some or some more money but still not the full prize money.
Any vendor who put themselves in position to get stiffed is a dumbass and is guilty of being a poor businessperson.......................especially when dealing with, of all people, a pocket billiards enthusiast.
I worked off and on for a vendor in the lighting, catering, and moving business for many many years. The following is the exact wording of the terms for payment for any contracting. It was signed and adhered to by thousands of companies and organizations...The Democratic National Party, The Dukakis campaign, Western Electric, The Obama Campaign, and countless others. It is about business...not fun and games.
A vendor who does not operate in this manner reminds me of the old saying about "a fool and his money are soon parted".
This is it:
"It is indeed unfortunate that the payment of funds must be addressed in the following manner, but 30 years in the vendor business has forced us to take this position. At the scheduled event, after the appropriate in-person introductions have been made, our representative will ask if you have funds ready. That is the correct time for the actual physical transfer of funds from your representatives hands into the hands of our representative by cash, credit card, or certfied check...BEFORE activity begins. Not later after things are in place, not when mister so-and-so gets back with his checkbook, not after the work has been completed, not tomorrow, not next week, not in 30 days...but NOW. By signing this agreement, you consent to these terms. Failure to comply will result in no vendor activity by us and a lawsuit against you. If this makes you mad, please just don't sign this agreement. Otherwise, return this signed agreement with the required deposit and we will secure the booking for you. Be prepared for receiving first class service like you've never imagined possible. Thank you very much for choosing our company."
As a foreign player without a U.S. Social Security number, 30% was withheld from Efren's winnings. Whether or not that money (150K) went to the IRS no one knows for sure. I suspect Trudeau pocketed it. He was pressured into paying Efren the other 350K in fear of his life (That's no joke. Let's just say that Efren is an icon to Filipinos everywhere, including many who live here). Trudeau began paying Efren and the other players about two years after the tournament was over. He promised to pay them at 9% per month. Another 20 months later most of the players had been paid in full (99% anyway).
The players who played in qualifiers and ponied up 2K each were also promised repayment. That didn't happen. The referees were either partially paid or remained unpaid. Trudeau also stiffed the hotel (the Venetian) for the use of the ballroom and other ancillary expenses associated with accommodating the event. All the vendors who helped in staging the event (TV production crew etc.) were stiffed as well. Some of them did receive minimal expense money up front.
He owed me $5,500 as a sponsor/backer of Cliff Joyner. I had to go online (here and other places) and make a big stink before Deno Andrews finally sent me the money, after getting the run-around for a month or so. Like others on here I knew he was a bad guy, but nobody wanted to hear it. They bought his line of BS completely and ended up being very disappointed and disillusioned in the end. His excuse about not being able to obtain online gambling permits was all lies. He never had any direct contact with the Chinese billionaire casino owner (Stanley Ho) he claimed to be his partner.
He is where he belongs, serving ten years for his criminal activities. He refused to reveal where he'd stashed his millions and would not pay the multi million dollar fine levied on him. This did not sit well with the presiding judge and they came down heavy on him. He should be out in a few years and will probably return to his scamming ways. That's the only life he knows.
Jay, out of curiosity, could he play the game at all?
I remember watching the Efren vs Siegel match and Trudeau was one of the commentators and he seemed to know what he was talking about. I understand he was a slick personality but to gab about pool the way he did, I imagined he could play at a fairly decent level.
Just wondering.
