I still have a few from this collection.... Like most from that time.. the use of these "new" materials were en vogue.. catalin, acrylic, etc... Catalin was actually around for quite a few years.

Another Frye

Found this one "laying by the side of the road". It wasn't in bad condition by any means but clearly it needed a cleaning, so I had Paul Drexler spruce it up with a light polishing and a new genuine Cortland wrap.

Extremely jealous on this end. Looking good.

Hello, I hope that you received this message. I am the proud owner of a 1967 Doc Frye Pool stick. My older brother RIP used to shoot pool — on Old Lincoln Highway — at Penndel billiard hall. It was an amazing pool hall with fantastic shooters.

While I was in eighth grade (1968) my parents bought us a slate top pool table for Christmas. We became the talk of the town. Everybody played at our house and we became very good pool players. But we really learned from the pool shooters at Penndel pool hall!! Several of them owned Doc Frye sticks - Including my brother. Please reply to this post as I am interested in learning more about Doc Frye and looking at some pictures — thank you so much.

Thanks for saying. I’ve been thinking about selling this cue stick (I know you probably are wondering why? 🙁). In your opinion, what do you think it is worth? The sentimental value and quality is actually priceless. I’ll most likely keep it. But I’m curious. Please let me know your opinion.

I remember that model. Cost about $50-$65. . Nice cue. Absolutely a keeper. If you can locate Barry Szamboti he would be your best source for value (I think)

Yup! I remember it costing my brother RIP about $50-$65 back in 1967. About 10 years ago, I had a new Ferrule and tip put on by a professional. He worked for a billiard hall across from the Neshaminy mall. In the same complex where PennDot has a location. It’s closed now. Do you remember that place?

I located Barry and his phone number in Feasterville. But I also just read a thread that said he is retired and very difficult to get in touch with.

Can you recommend anyone that can shed some light on what this stick might be worth? It has a lot of sentimental value to me and is a great stick — I’ll probably keep it.

I’m just curious to know the approximate value. Thank you for all the information and for posting the pictures. I really appreciate it.

Find little Kenny, he will have a good idea of value.

He’s a well known guy and talks to Barry often, lives close to Barry.

He buys and sells lots of cues so he might be a bit on the lowball end of the price-but his opinion will be of value.

He’s easy to find
