If it's leather, use regular black shoe polish: wax polish, not liquid. Do not use mink oil on black leather.
If it's vinyl, just use Armor All..
You asked about "cleaning" a black leather case- Shoe polish is NOT a cleaning agent- is is a polishing agent. Start with a top quality leather cleaner/conditioner from Meguiar or Lexol. If you then need to add more richness/color to the case/ then consider a top quality leather polish, but do the cleaning process first!!
Just picked up a nice, original old school 1x2 smooth black leather it's george case. What would be the best thing to use to clean it up? Black shoe polish? Mink oil? Something
