Have owned this cue for 25 years , understand it to be a Bob Meucci made around 1970, any help with origin and value.

Early Meucci for sure. Never seen one. Looks like a MO-12 with a wood cap. http://www.budgetcues.com/archive/meucci-1st-brochure.htm

I agree.

But he didn't produce designs like this until after he left Huebler in 1975 as far as I know.

I am thinking this would be among his earliest gambler designs.

I would guess it has a brass pin as well.

Odd bumper for a Meucci, not the pill bumper like the earliest Meucci cues that were made in the Huebler shop...and not like the later bumper either.

Kind of looks like a Viking mushroom bumper. Maybe a replacement for the original? Not sure.

EARLY MEUCCI Gambler is what it looks like-
"Those early cues...
Bob used some kind of plastic-
I've seen ALOT of those early cues with cracked/split butts/joint collars-
" I am going to say that's what happened to this cue-
plastic cracked and was replaced with wood-
"Seriously DE-VALUED THIS CUE TOO"
IMO

That would explain why the bumper is different as well.

And the cue has a steel pin, so not terribly early.

Good call DR. Probably broke the joint and cap and replaced them with wood. I wonder who did the work? Doesn't look like too bad of a job.
